McGill Office of Religious and Spiritual Life - MORSL

McGill Office of Religious and Spiritual Life - MORSL MORSL is a proud member of McGill University Student Services.

MORSL is dedicated to supporting the spiritual and religious life of every McGill student, including members of one of the traditional World Religions or new religious movements, students who don't fit into official religious categories but nonetheless have a desire for mystery, deeper meaning, and community, or even just students who wish to learn more about the faith of their neighbours and gain

skills for existence in a pluralistic world.

* We direct students who are in need of spiritual guidance -- or who are seeking spiritual community within an existing tradition -- to our diverse team of faith volunteers.
* We provide opportunities for students to practice peaceful coexistence alongside different neighbours at one of our many interfaith activities.
* We offer sacred time and space for contemplative rejuvenation amidst the stress of university life, with our guided or Quaker meditations, our non-denominational prayer space, and various other oases from stress.
* We help students build a stronger C.V. through a rewarding volunteer and Work Study experiences.
* We also have a safe and cozy lounge where students can be themselves, have a tea or coffee, and meet other students in an environment that's a bit more like home. McGill Office of Religious and Spiritual Life is proud to form a part of your McGill Student Services team.

Join MORSL for a guided walk through trails on Mont Royal exploring nature, reflection, and what 'sacred' can mean across cultures and perspectives. Through quiet observation, simple practices, and conversation, we'll explore our connection to place, presence, and the natural world. No prior experience or spiritual background needed-just curiosity. We're offering this workshop on Thurs. afternoons at 2-4pm on June 25, July 23, and August 6.

To register, visit:

July 23: mcgill.ca/x/5sj

Each year on Patriots' Day/ Victoria Day, MORSL partners with Montreal's multifaith community to clean up a neighbourhood park. It's a great time to meet and chat with new people, beautify a green space, and contemplate our relationships with the natural world. A huge thank you to all the students and other volunteers who came!

Join fellow students Fri, May 29 at 4pm at MORSL for a watch party featuring an online screening and discussion of this film from theologian, a photographer, and adventurer Thomas Jay Oord. The event is hosted online by Interfaith Photovoice, who say this about the film: “Oord explores various spiritualities as they relate to nature and love. As a photographer, Oord's artistic vision tells a variety of stories. As no stranger to hardship and controversy, Oord looks for divinity and love in the natural world.”

Participants in the MORSL event will be able to watch the 40-minute film together in our cozy drop-in space, enjoy snacks, and share their reflections with each other. A wonderful opportunity to blend exploration of nature, spirituality and art in an interfaith/inter worldview community!
