The Forgiveness Experiment: What Would Your Life Look Like If You Let It All Go?

01/15/2026

IT’S FINALLY HERE.

After 17 years of conversations, questions, stories, and real-life wrestling with what forgiveness actually means,

The Forgiveness Experiment is available now on Amazon.

This isn’t a book about being nice or letting people off the hook. It’s about what happens when forgiveness stops being something you’re supposed to do and becomes something that frees you.

Through Jewish wisdom, psychology, and lived experience, the book explores why we forgive, why it’s so hard, and what real letting go looks like when it’s honest and human.

Available now:
Kindle
Paperback
Hardcover and audiobook coming next week

If forgiveness has ever felt unfinished, confusing, or heavy, this book is for you.

Dear NDG Friends,

Our hearts are heavy today.

A Chanukah celebration in Sydney was shattered by terror. Innocent lives were taken, including a beloved Chabad shliach, Rabbi Eli Schlanger, HY”D, who was bringing light into the world.

And the question lingers: How do we celebrate tonight? Chanukah answers. With one small flame. Light doesn’t argue with darkness. It doesn’t panic. It shines — and the darkness retreats. That is our response to fear. We add light.

Not because the pain isn’t real, but because it will not define us. Not because one flame feels like enough, but because we know what one flame becomes.
That’s why tonight matters.

It’s not because rejection feels good.. it doesn’t. It shakes you. It stings. It forces you to sit with yourself.

But a fake promise? That’s a slow leak in the soul. It keeps you waiting for someone who isn’t coming, imagining a future that was never real, rehearsing conversations that will never happen. It keeps you asleep with your eyes open.

Clear rejection… wakes you up. It places you back in your own body. It returns your energy to you… the energy you’ve been pouring into a hope that wasn’t yours to hold.

Sometimes love doesn’t show up as a yes. Sometimes love shows up as a clean, honest no. Because the universe doesn’t take from you. It reveals what was never meant to stay. It clears the space so something true, something aligned, something real can finally find you.

So don’t fear the door that closes.
Fear the one you keep knocking on long after your soul has outgrown it. Let clarity set you free. And let your next chapter be built on truth, not almosts.

Today, we mourn the loss of a true mensch, the Honourable Marc Garneau.

Marc wasn’t just our Member of Parliament, he was a friend, a supporter, and a genuine soul who cared deeply for the people of NDG. Every time I reached out, whether by phone or email, he responded with kindness, humility, and action. That’s rare.

Over the years, he graced our community with his presence at countless Chanukah Menorah lightings and spoke at our Shabbat dinners. I’ll never forget the night he shared his story of being Canada’s first astronaut. Our students and young professionals sat in awe, mouths literally wide open, soaking in every word as if he’d just stepped off the space shuttle.

Marc was more than a public servant. He was a bridge-builder, a listener, and a symbol of dignity and grace.

He inspired us to look up, literally and figuratively.

May his memory and legacy of service and humility continue to guide us here on Earth.

The Passover Seder isn’t just a tradition....it’s an invitation. Not just for guests around your table, but for you. An invitation to show up emotionally, spiritually, and vulnerably. This class explores five Seder moments that, when fully embraced, can transform your night from ritual to revolution.

We’ll journey from the cracked matzah to the humble matzah, from our collective memory to our personal growth, from the bitterness of trauma to the sweetness of faith. Discover why incompletion is a gift, how humility is the key to freedom, and why the Seder might just be history’s original group therapy session.

5 Key Takeaways:

Invite Yourself In
The opening words of the Seder aren’t about inviting others—they’re about inviting yourself. Your full, vulnerable, questioning, present self. This is your moment to enter the story, not as a spectator, but as the protagonist.
Celebrate What’s Broken
Yachatz teaches that brokenness isn’t a defect—it’s a doorway. By honoring what’s missing, we create space for growth, connection, and Divine presence. Real healing begins when we stop pretending to be whole.
You Are Part of a 3,337-Year Legacy
While other civilizations forget, we remember. The power of the Seder is memory with mission: to remind us that no matter where we are, freedom is always the next chapter if we have the courage to write it.
Humility is Freedom’s Secret Ingredient
Matzah isn’t just flat—it’s freeing. The opposite of ego isn’t weakness; it’s openness. Freedom requires the courage to say, “Maybe I don’t know everything.” That humility invites new beginnings.
Freedom Begins in the Heart
Egypt isn’t just a place—it’s a mindset. It’s the voice that says, “This is how it’s always been.” But G-d gave us a hidden “escape hatch”—a shift in perception, a crack of hope, a step toward healing. Your freedom begins when you stop being “right” and start being real.
