General William Booth, the founder of the Salvation Army, once wrote to some of his soldiers that were on the missions field abroad. They were so eager to receive the message and open it as it was a special message sent at Christmas. In those days, sending messages international wasn’t as simple as a DM, so anytime General Booth communicated with his teams abroad, it was treated as very special.
The team received the telegram and were shocked as the only letters were O-T-H-E-R-S. The most urgent message on General Booth’s heart was the instruction to focus on others. This highlighted the motive behind everything William Booth did. If you’ll go after the people nobody cares for, God will draw the right people your way to help fulfill that assignment. True kingdom leadership is servitude towards others. “For the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve and give His life as a ransom for many.” [Mark 10:46]
