We are profoundly sad to announce the passing of a past Treasurer of our Ladies Auxiliary, she was a special lady that gave fully of herself to help others.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Joanne E. Bourque at the age of 65. Joanne passed away peacefully at the Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, on Sunday October 5th.
Born in Moncton, NB, on August 5th, 1960, she was the daughter of Clifford Lirette and the late Andréa (Hébert) Lirette.
Joanne will be sadly missed by her father, Clifford (Jeannette LeBlanc); her sons: Julien and Remi (Ayleen); her beloved grandchildren: Emry and Grayson; her sister, Annette (Marc) LeBlanc and brother, Maurice (Tracey) Lirette; her estranged husband, Louis Bourque; and several cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Joanne was a kind hearted soul and loved spending time with her family and friends whether it was to play cards, bingo, Mexican Train or shopping. She was a great fan of baseball, loved her Blue Jays and thoroughly enjoyed watching her sons bowl or play baseball. She loved being with people. Even after suffering a massive stroke in January 2018, which robbed her of her ability to speak, she would find a way to communicate with others. Joanne was always game to go on an adventure even if it was just a drive to NS or PE. She especially loved going to visit cousins in North Carolina.
Besides her mother in 2021, Joanne was predeceased by her nephew, Jacques A. LeBlanc in July 2013.
Visitation will be held at Passage, 625 Mountain Road, Moncton, NB, (506) 855-1145, on Thursday, October 9th, from 9 am to 10:45 am, followed by the funeral in the chapel at 11 am.
Burial will take place at the Elmwood Cemetery at a later date.
In Joanne’s memory, a donation can be made to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the family.
