You are invited to the Mass of the Holy Spirit on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at 7pm at St. Bernard’s Church. The Mass of the Holy Spirit is votive Sacrifice of the Mass in which we ask the Holy Spirit to guide, strengthen, and renew our parish community. As we begin a new pastoral year, we gather as a community to seek God’s wisdom and grace for all that lies ahead. Let us come together to pray and ask the Holy Spirit to bless our shared mission.

STATEMENT OF FR. CARLOS JACINTO ON HIS APPOINTMENT AS ADMINISTRATOR AND MODERATOR OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD PASTORAL UNIT

“I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding.”
Jeremiah 3:15

With gratitude to God and a heart full of hope, I receive the appointment announced this weekend by His Grace, Archbishop Guy Desrochers, naming me Administrator and Moderator of The Good Shepherd Pastoral Unit, effective September 1, 2026.

Our pastoral unit is blessed to serve three wonderful parish communities: St. Bernard’s in Moncton, St. Vincent’s in Sackville, and St. Clement’s in Port Elgin. These parishes have welcomed me and allowed me to grow as a priest over the past three years. It is now a great privilege to serve them in this new capacity.

I am especially grateful that I will not walk this road alone. I look forward to serving alongside Fr. Frank Quinn, who has been appointed our new Parochial Vicar. Deacon Cam Johnson will also be present in different liturgies and pastoral initiatives. Together, with our dedicated staff, volunteers, parish leaders, and all the faithful, I pray that we may continue building vibrant communities where Christ is known, loved, and encountered.

It is fitting that this appointment was first announced on July 25, the Feast of Saint James the Apostle, patron of pilgrims. His feast reminds us that the Christian life is never lived standing still. We are always on pilgrimage, encouraging one another as we make our way toward the Father’s house.

Over the coming weeks, I will begin meeting with our parish councils, committees, ministries, and volunteers as we prepare for this new chapter. Together, we will prayerfully discern how the Lord is calling us to grow as one pastoral family while continuing to honour the unique identity and strengths of each community. In the weeks ahead, I will also be sharing more of the pastoral vision that I hope, with God’s grace, we can pursue together.

I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to Fr. Damian for his ministry over these past two years. Please keep him in your prayers as he begins his new assignment.

As I prepare to embrace this responsibility, I humbly ask for your prayers. Pray that I may always lead with the heart of Christ, the Good Shepherd. If we keep our eyes fixed on Him, I have every confidence that the best days of our pastoral unit are still ahead.

Finally, I entrust this new ministry to the loving care of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Under the beautiful title by which she is known in my hometown in Gapan, La Virgen Divina Pastora, may she watch over our families, our parishes, and all who call The Good Shepherd Pastoral Unit their spiritual home.

May God bless you all, and I look forward to walking this journey of faith with you.

A joyful day for St. Clement’s Church!
Today, we celebrated 100 years since the arrival of the parish’s first resident priest. It was a significant moment that marked the strengthening and growth of St. Clement’s as a parish community.
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass was celebrated by His Grace, Archbishop Guy Desrochers, CSsR, together with concelebrating priests: Fr. Carlos Jacinto, Parochial Vicar; Fr. Charles Broderick, former Parish Administrator; and Fr. Frank Quinn, who served the parish during his internship year.
It was wonderful to see present and former parishioners gather to give thanks to God for a century of faith, service, and community. Following Mass, everyone enjoyed a reception in the parish hall filled with good food, stories, and joyful reunions.
A heartfelt thank you to the Local Parish Council of St. Clement’s and to all the volunteers whose hard work made this milestone celebration possible. Your dedication and love for your parish were evident in every detail.
May St. Clement’s continue to be a place where faith is lived, shared, and handed on for generations to come. Ad multos annos!

Steubenville Atlantic 2026 has come to a close. This year, the Archdiocese of Moncton was blessed to bring a delegation of 100 participants, including 35 young people from St. Bernard’s Church. We are also proud to share that our archdiocese was the second-largest delegation at the conference!

A heartfelt thank you to all the parishes that generously provided financial assistance, making it possible for so many of our young people to experience this life-changing weekend. We are especially grateful to the Knights of Columbus Council 1310 and the Catholic Women’s League of St. Bernard’s for your generous support.

Our young people are not only the future of the Church. They are the present of the Church. We want them to know that they are loved, valued, and supported by their parish family. Thank you to everyone who invested in their faith and helped make this unforgettable weekend possible. May the Lord continue to bless our youth and ignite in them a lifelong love for Christ and His Church.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this afternoon for the closing of the Month of Mary at St. Bernard’s!
A special shout-out to our children who led us in praying the Rosary and to those who led the hymns. You did an amazing job and made our celebration extra special. It was beautiful to see families gathered together in prayer before Our Blessed Mother. Moments like these remind us of the wisdom of the old saying: “The family that prays together stays together.”
As we close the month of May, let’s continue to make prayer a part of our daily family life. May Our Lady continue to watch over our homes and lead us always closer to Jesus.

Join us as we conclude the Month of Mary with a special afternoon of prayer and devotion on Sunday, May 31, at 3:00 PM at St. Bernard's Church.
The celebration will include the Rosary led by our children and the beautiful Offering of Flowers to Our Blessed Mother.
Everyone is welcome. Bring your family, especially the children, and let us place flowers at the feet of our Heavenly Mother with hearts full of love and gratitude.
