Need High School Volunteer Hours? 👕👖

Eden United Church is hosting a Gently Used Clothing Mart, and we’d love to have teen volunteers help us get ready and assist on sale day!

📅 After-school shifts: The week of September 14
📅 Event day: Saturday, September 19
📍 3051 Battleford Road, Mississauga

Volunteers will help with folding and organizing clothing during the week, and tidying and organizing tables on Saturday.

If you’re a high school student looking to earn volunteer hours, get in touch and we can arrange times that work for you.

Join us this Sunday with Rev. Norm.

Last week we reflected on forest and jungles, the places that reveal the extravagant abundance of God. An abundance that is obvious to the beholder. This week we turn our attention to the wilderness and outback. Here too there is abundance, but it is not as obvious. It is an abundance that reveals itself when we are attentive. We find it when we trust that we will find it. The wilderness and outback teach us about trust. Throughout the Bible, deserts and wilderness places are not empty wastelands but sacred landscapes where people encounter God. In the wilderness, Moses received his calling, Elijah heard the still small voice, Israel learned dependence upon God, and Jesus prepared for his ministry. These landscapes remind us that even when familiar comforts are stripped away, God remains present. The wilderness teaches resilience, simplicity, and faith.
