When military recruiters visit high schools, the branches offering paid tuition and cushy career advancements get a few sign-ups. But when the Marines recruiter stands up and says, “If you join, you’ll be cold, hungry, and tested—it will be the hardest thing you ever do,” the line goes out the door. Why? Because deep down, we don't just want comfort; we want a purpose that matters.

Following Jesus was never advertised as a path to instant comfort. In Acts 20, the Apostle Paul faced plotters, tears, and warnings of imprisonment. Yet his answer was: "However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race."

Hardship isn't proof that God has abandoned you—often, it’s the very tool He uses to disciple you, humble your ego, and expand His Kingdom through your life.
