Congratulations to Nancy Parkhill

Stinky Sheldon Saves the Day has won the CANREADS Best Children's Book for 2026!

Stinky Sheldon Saves the Day is the debut children's book by former elementary school teacher Nancy Parkhill. It tells the story of Sheldon Skunk, who is initially rejected by the other animals in the Wee Woods because of his smell. However, when he offers a helping hand to an animal in need, his actions change the entire forest for the better.

The book is the first installment in the 3-book Wee Woods Series. It is geared toward children ages 6 to 8 and focuses on themes of kindness, acceptance, and the value of being a good friend.

Games Night Fundraiser for Sheridan United Church, 2501 Truscott Drive (next to the Clarkson Community Centre) on June 6, 2026. A chance to get out of the house, make new friends in the neighbourhood. It's sure to be a lot of fun with much laughter.

Afternoon Tea Fundraiser

Sheridan United Church hosted a Tea today and it was a huge success! Thank you to all the organizing team who provided sandwiches and desserts. We had three student volunteers to set up, serve and take down, they did an amazing job keeping our cups full. Bravo!!

Thank you to everyone who donated items for The Compass Food Bank & Outreach Centre at Sheridan United Church this Easter and prior, and to my husband Nick and son Ryan, who delivered these items to The Compass Food Bank & Outreach Centre last Monday.
