As April, Volunteer Appreciation month, comes to a close, we are grateful to look back on a beautiful Volunteer Appreciation Dinner celebrating the many hands and hearts that serve Merciful Redeemer Parish.
A heartfelt message from Fr. Séamus:
“In a world that often asks, “What can I get?”, you have chosen to ask, “How can I serve?”. Like our late Holy Father Pope Francis, you recognize that being a gift for others is at the heart of the Christian life.
Whether you are mentoring our youth, teaching children’s liturgy, singing in the choir, counting donations, cleaning the church, visiting the homebound, helping the needy, preparing people for sacraments, or greeting visitors with a warm smile, you are doing more than just donating your time—you are living out your baptismal call.
Moving beyond yourself, to serve Christ in others, I am profoundly humbled by that. Your service is an expression of the desire for holiness that the Lord has placed deep within your heart.
