We are thrilled to announce that James Fountain will be performing with the Mississauga Band on April 18th, 2026!

James is the principal trumpet of the London Symphony Orchestra and renowned worldwide for his virtuosity. James has played on the soundtracks of numerous films and tv shows, including the recently released ‘Wicked: For Good’.

James is no stranger to the Mississauga Band as he was our guest soloist in 2011 at the age of 17. We are looking forward to playing with him again soon!

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our members, Rocky Ng, at the age of 19.

Rocky first heard about our group through his high school teacher, Roberto Morson, and asked if he could come to a practice. Even though it took him a couple of hours by transit, he showed up consistently and quickly became a steady, reliable presence in the cornet section.

When the 2nd cornets were asked to play louder, Rocky took it as a personal challenge—determined to outplay the entire section, always with a grin or a quiet chuckle afterward. That mix of enthusiasm and humour became part of his signature.

Rocky carried the attitude every band hopes for: eager to play, attentive, caring toward the people around him, and genuinely thrilled to be part of this ministry. His joy was unmistakable. You can see it in so many of our videos, especially Gonna Fly Now with Louis Dowdeswell, where Rocky can be spotted fist‑pumping as Louis nails those high notes.

We celebrate Rocky’s life and the privilege of having been even a small part of it.

Thank you, Rocky, for being wholeheartedly and unapologetically you. You left a bigger impact on this band than you could ever imagine.
