🙏 Suzanne Rumsey is our guest preacher this Sunday 🙏

We are so pleased to welcome Suzanne Rumsey from Alongside Hope as our guest preacher on Sunday, June 7.

Suzanne has dedicated much of her life to faith-based global outreach and justice work. She has been part of Alongside Hope (formerly PWRDF) since 2001, supporting partnerships across Latin America and the Caribbean and helping connect communities through compassion, advocacy, and shared mission.

Before joining Alongside Hope, Suzanne spent a decade working in human rights advocacy, and she continues to bring that deep commitment to justice into her work today. Fluent in Spanish and grounded in both theological study and lived experience, she offers a thoughtful and global perspective on faith in action.

In 2025, Suzanne was honoured with the Anglican Award of Merit, the highest recognition for lay people in the Anglican Church of Canada—a reflection of her incredible contributions and leadership.

We are grateful to have Suzanne with us and look forward to hearing her message and learning more about the work of Alongside Hope.

All are warmly invited to join us for this special Sunday.

🌿 Welcome to June at St. Peter’s 🌿

A new month invites us into a new season.

As we move into early summer, June offers space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect — with one another and with God.

In presence.
In gratitude.
In community.

There is something about this time of year that encourages us to step outside of our routines, to notice more, and to be more intentional with how we spend our time.

There is so much unfolding at St. Peter’s this month, and we would love for you to be part of it.

Today we see the disciples with hearts full of worship and, at the same time, uncertainty. If church were only for those with perfect faith, it might be empty.

As God's people, we are continually sent to share the Gospel. What does that look like in a Canadian context? How do we, as both faithful and uncertain, fulfill God's purpose for us?

We remember that the Gospel is for all nations. We stay connected. We gather and become family. And we take heart, for He is always with us.

Watch today's sermon and reflect with us on God's call.

🌿 Looking Ahead 🌿

As May comes to a close, we take a moment to reflect on what we’ve shared, what we’ve experienced, and what continues to grow — and we look ahead together.

🌱 A Season of Growth 🌱

Growth is not always visible.

It doesn’t always happen all at once.

Sometimes it feels slow.
Sometimes it feels uncertain.

And sometimes, it feels like nothing is changing at all.

But growth is often happening beneath the surface — quietly, steadily, and over time.

In the ways we think.
In how we respond.
In the small steps we choose to take each day.

Spring reminds us of this.

That even after long seasons of waiting,
new life is still possible.

Even if we don’t yet see the outcome.

Where might growth be taking shape in your life right now?

A small group of believers can feel safe and joyful. But what happens when we step beyond those walls?

On Pentecost Sunday, we remember the Holy Spirit goes with us everywhere, bringing courage, comfort, and hope.

Be inspired today: you are never alone. 🔥🕊️

🤍 Ministry Moments: Serving Together 🤍

There are many ways to be part of the life of St. Peter’s.

Some are visible.
Others happen quietly behind the scenes.

Greeting someone at the door.
Preparing a space for worship.
Helping with a program or event.

Each act — no matter how small it may seem — plays a role in shaping this community.

Ministry is not only about large commitments.
It is often found in simple, consistent acts of care and presence.

Moments where we choose to contribute.
To support.
To show up for one another.

And when those moments come together, something larger begins to take shape.

A sense of belonging.
A shared purpose.
A community that feels like home.

There is always room for more people to be part of that.

Where might you find yourself stepping in?

📖 Teachable Tomorrow: What Is Prayer? 📖

Prayer is often thought of as saying the right words.
As if there is a perfect way to do it.

But prayer is not about performance.
It is about connection.

It can be spoken or silent.
Structured or spontaneous.

Shared with others
or held quietly within.

Prayer does not require polished language.
It simply asks for honesty.

To bring what is real into the presence of God.

Sometimes prayer looks like gratitude.
Sometimes it looks like questions.

Sometimes it is simply sitting in stillness.

There is no single way to pray.
Only an invitation to be present.

Where might you create space for prayer in your day?
