The Church of the Nazarene is a Christian church in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition, tracing its roots to an anniversary date of 1908. It was founded to spread the message of scriptural holiness (Christlike living) across the lands. The Church of the Nazarene is a Great Commission church. Our mission is to make Christlike disciples in the nations. We believe that God offers to everyone forgiveness

, peace, joy, purpose, love, meaning in life, and the promise of heaven when life is over by entering and experiencing a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We are called to take this message to people everywhere. The Church of the Nazarene is also a holiness church. We believe that Christians can experience a deeper level of life in which there is victory over sin, power to witness and serve, and a richer fellowship with God, all through the infilling of the Holy Spirit. The Canada Central District geographical area is the Province of Ontario. Our churches are located throughout the province from Ottawa in the east to Windsor to the west to Niagara in the south and Owen Sound in the north.

Generations Church of the Nazarene (Oakville)

On Sunday, May 31, DS Steve and Pat Ottley visited Oakville Generations Church. During the service, they were joined by representatives from our Cambridge Church in expressing heartfelt appreciation to Pastor Danny Moreno and the Oakville Generations congregation for providing oversight and support to the Cambridge church over the past three years.

Recently, oversight of the Cambridge church was transitioned to Pastor Andrew Brown and the Brantford Church. We are deeply grateful for the faithful ministry of Oakville Generations in helping to establish a good foundation for the work in Cambridge. As this new chapter begins, we look forward with anticipation to all that God will accomplish through the leadership and partnership of the Brantford Church.

Toronto Main Street Church of the Nazarene

Please pray for the congregation of Toronto Main Street Church as they continue serving their community and sharing the hope of Jesus with those around them. Pray that God would strengthen and encourage the church as they seek to be a faithful presence in their neighbourhood and beyond.

Pray for Pastor Trudy and Eric White as they lead and care for the congregation during this season of transition. Ask God to give them wisdom, strength, and joy as they shepherd the church and help prepare the way for the next chapter of ministry.

Please also pray for Rev. Davinson Kevin Bohorquez as he prepares to begin serving as pastor in September. Pray that God would guide him, help him build meaningful connections with the congregation, and equip him for the work ahead.

A glimpse into this afternoon’s Celebration Service at Canada Central District Assembly.

Together, we celebrated what God is doing across our district. We welcomed two new district licensed ministers, honoured the faithful service of two pastors entering retirement, remembered a beloved pastor who has gone home to be with the Lord, and heard stories of God’s work in our churches and communities.

There were familiar faces, meaningful conversations, moments of worship, and plenty of encouragement as we gathered around our shared mission of making Christlike disciples.

Set to everyone singing Holiness Unto the Lord, a hymn that has shaped and encouraged generations of Nazarenes, this reel offers just a small glimpse of our time together.

Over two days, we will worship together, celebrate what God is doing across our district, hear ministry reports, engage in the work of the church, and look ahead to the future God is calling us toward.

NYI Youth/Young Adult Retreat

Our District NYI hosted its Annual Youth and Young Adult Retreat at YMCA Camp Ki-Wa-Y near Waterloo. District NYI President Marg Stahlbaum and her team organized an excellent weekend for approximately 50 youth and young adults from across the district. Pastor Angela Persaud served as the speaker for the youth sessions, while Ranjith Kulenthirarajah spoke to the young adults. Christopher Persaud led worship throughout the weekend.

This retreat is a significant opportunity to invest in the lives of our youth and young adults and to nurture the next generation of leaders in the Church. We thank God for the dedicated leaders who generously give their time, gifts, and energy to mentor, encourage, and disciple these young people. We are grateful for their faithful commitment to shaping the future of the Church.
