Pastor Jinsil's first official day. Chris asked if he was nervous and he said on a scale from 1 to 10, he is feeling 100. Thunder rumbled and shook the church just when he finished his sermon and rain poured down during the benediction. That was when Pastor Jinsil and family discovered the church roof leaks.

A big thank you to Rev. Dr. Victor Shepherd (and his lovely wife, Maureen) for stepping in as Interim Speaker for eleven months. On his last official Sunday, he delivered his favourite sermon which recounts how his philosophy professor, Dr. Emil Fackenheim, convinced him of the realness and density of God and turned him away from agnosticism.

THIS SATURDAY! On June 6, Glenbrook will host a concert featuring Glenbrook’s The Bag of Ham Band and In the Vineyard (Nancy’s group). We will be collecting donations for Camp Cairn’s Campership fund. This fund helps families financially so that more children can enjoy camp. Hope to see you there!

CAMP CAIRN is an amazing place and we want to make sure kids have the opportunity to get there. Glenbrook will host a Campership Fund concert on June 6 from 7-9pm to help send kids to camp this summer. The concert will feature Glenbrook’s The Bag of Ham band playing classic rock hits and In the Vineyard playing familiar favourites.

The Bag of Ham
The Bag of Ham is a band of Glenbrook family and friends. They perform the Classic Rock ‘n Roll songs that they loved from their youth. (Presbyterians have been seen dancing in the aisle!!) They get together once a year to help raise money for kids to go to camp. How did they get their name? It’s a great story!! Come and find out!

In the Vineyard
In the Vineyard started at Dixie Presbyterian Church. Lloyd and Nancy play familiar favourites from a variety of genres including folk, country, soft rock and gospel. They host themed coffee houses several times a year that often include other musical guests. They were at Glenbrook in November for the 70s themed ‘Musical Memories’ coffee house.

We all know there are scams and fraud and that some of it is targeted at seniors. Glenbrook will host an information session called “Senior Online Fraud Awareness” on Saturday, May 30 at 2:00 pm. Varsha Vaishali is the speaker. She is the founder and president of an organization called Cyber Harassment Support.
