In recent months, the Church Engagement and Advocacy & Government Engagement teams have worked closely with a small group of church leaders. We have given them a firsthand look at how partnerships across countries are improving health and nutrition for children and families. The journey included virtual learning sessions, a visit to World Vision programs in Kenya, and time in Ottawa meeting with Members of Parliament and attending the National Prayer Breakfast.
In Kenya, pastors met families, community volunteers, health workers and faith leaders who are working every day to support children’s wellbeing. They saw firsthand how local leadership, national health systems, global cooperation and Canadian government funding, through the ReactsIn project, come together to deliver practical, lasting change.
Following their visit to Kenya the group engaged in a series of conversations on Parliament Hill, sharing personal reflections on what they witnessed and how Canadian support contributes to practical, measurable outcomes. These were not advocacy meetings in the traditional sense, but opportunities for trusted community voices to speak about stewardship, responsibility and the impact of partnerships rooted in Canadian values.
The journey also created space for deeper relationships—among the pastors themselves, with World Vision teams and with public leaders.
