This Sunday, we will celebrate communion as part of our worship service. It is a time to be nourished by Jesus and to remember. We remember Jesus’ last supper with his disciples. He asked them and us to remember him, each time we take the bread and drink the wine. It is to recall Jesus’ life and teachings while he was on earth. It is to recall how he was crucified by the political authorities of the time. It is to recall how God resurrected him and how his Spirit continues to be present in our lives, guiding and teaching us. Each time we take communion, we remember his life and give thanks.

On May 31 we celebrated Trinity Sunday and explored the three main ways God comes to us. Rev. Irene shared a sermon about "Potholes" in life and how the Holy Spirit helps us get through them. We enjoyed Jody Malone's beautiful solo. The Green Team distributed pollinator seedlings and, bonus - rhubarb and leeks!

The laying of hands is symbolic of the Holy Spirit resting upon me and working through me. In the years that followed, I would rely on the Holy Spirit to teach me, guide me and give me wisdom. The Good News is the Holy Spirit is not just available to ordained people. It is available to all. The Holy Spirit accompanies you and comes alongside you. Let us give thanks that the Holy Spirit continues to be with us, comforting us and showing us the way forward!

Welcome Cristina Pisani, Guest Performer

Cristina Pisani is a vibrant soprano hailing from Mississauga and is honoured to return to Westminster United.
Upcoming engagements include a choral performance in a pair of Queen tribute concerts in London, Ontario (Jeans ‘n Classics) and a reprise of the role of Frasquita in Bizet’s iconic opera Carmen (Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra).
Recent engagements include Herodias in Strauss’s Salome (Opera by Request), the soprano soloist in Vaughan Williams’s Dona Nobis Pacem (Dundas Valley Orchestra/Chorus Hamilton), and a featured soloist at Tallarico’s Video Games Live (Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra).
Cristina began her musical training at the age of three with her mother and completed her MMus in Vocal Performance and Literature at Western University.
