We joyfully congratulate His Excellency, the Most Reverend Archbishop Petar Rajić on his appointment as Prefect of the Papal Household.
A son of our own parish, we give thanks to God for the witness of his vocation and priesthood, which began here among us. Although his service to the Holy See has taken him far from us, we have always received him as our own…as a member of our parish family.
It was a special grace to welcome him back just last month, when he conferred the Sacrament of Confirmation upon our candidates. Through his hands, they received the gifts of the Holy Spirit — a moment our community will long remember with gratitude.
Having faithfully served the Church as Apostolic Nuncio to Italy and San Marino, as well as in numerous diplomatic missions, Archbishop Rajić now assumes a role of great trust at the heart of the Holy See. In this position, he oversees and coordinates the Holy Father’s schedule, audiences, and official ceremonies.
Born in Toronto, he becomes the first Canadian and the first Croatian to hold this distinguished office.
With gratitude for his return to his roots and for sharing in our parish’s life of faith, we offer our prayers and heartfelt congratulations as he begins this important service to the Church… Ad multos annos!
