Camp Sheldrake

Camp Sheldrake Camp Sheldrake Inc. is a summer overnight camp for youth. We are a residential outdoor adventure summer camp for youth and teens.

Our outdoor adventure programs help build leadership skills through the enjoyment of outdoor activities, and develop a sense of consciousness guided by the Christian principles of social justice. Located in Bartibog, NB, (20 minutes outside Miramichi) on 150 acres overlooking the beautiful Miramichi River, Camp Sheldrake boasts two waterfronts, and several kilometers of woodland trails. As a Catho

lic-based camp, affiliated with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saint John, our program bases itself in Christian values and focuses on the theme of Social Justice. Our days & meals begin with prayer and we end our days around a group campfire based on Spiritual and Social Justice themes.

We at Camp Sheldrake are absolutely ecstatic to be kicking off the 2026 season. We have an upcoming volunteer opportunity, for anyone interested in lending a hand.

Our annual Camp Clean-Up Day is approaching on Saturday, May 9th. Volunteers and board members are meeting at the camp at 9AM.

For generations, Camp Sheldrake has been a special place where children and youth come together to build confidence, friendships, faith, and a love for the outdoors. Our camp exists because of the care, dedication, and generosity of our community — and right now, we need that community more than ever.

We are looking for caring, committed individuals to join our Board of Directors. We currently have openings for:

-Board Chair
-Vice Chair
-Financial Secretary

Serving on the board is a meaningful way to give back and help ensure Camp Sheldrake continues to be a safe, welcoming, and enriching place for future generations of campers. You don’t need to be an expert, just someone who believes in the value of community, teamwork, and supporting our youth!
