Another weekend of amazing events within our community!
The Milton Seventh-Day Adventist Church raised awareness and spoke out against intimate partner violence and crimes against children. The End It Now campaign, under Nerine Ward’s guidance, reminds us of the importance of being kind to one another and teaches the importance of speaking up against these hateful behaviours.
The conversations did not stop there. I had the opportunity to speak with many of my fellow Ward 4 residents to discuss the importance of traffic safety, pride in our community, keeping our youth active, the CN-Matthews proposal, continued investment in fire safety and economic development.
Let’s keep the conversations going!
centrecanadiendelafamille also hosted AfroJazz Fest at Milton Community Park. Saturday’s highlights included cultural dances and a community dance off - but was cut short when the storm rolled in. I returned Sunday to enjoy more of the entertainment which included vocalists, steel-pan group Panatics and so many more! A huge thank you to the organizers for bringing this event to our community.
I also need to mention the Milton Mosaic Festival which was held last weekend at Milton Community Park. I had a chance to stop by before heading off to the AMO conference and spoke with a few of the organizers and vendors. I hear the event was a well attended and successful! Another display of our community coming together.
