Muharram is one of the sacred months and a beautiful opportunity to increase in voluntary fasting.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"The best fasting after Ramadan is the fasting of Allah's month, Muharram."
(Sahih Muslim 1163)

Regarding the Day of Ashura, he ﷺ said:
"Fasting the day of Ashura, I hope from Allah, expiates the sins of the previous year."
(Sahih Muslim 1162)

The Prophet ﷺ said:
"If I remain until next year, I will surely fast the ninth (of Muharram)."
(Sahih Muslim, 1134)

Don't forget the White Days (13th, 14th & 15th of every lunar month).
The Prophet ﷺ said:
"If you fast any part of the month, then fast the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth."
(Jami' at-Tirmidhi 761)
