Great Sermon, worth reading

Then he returned from the region of Tyre, and went by way of Sidon towards the Sea of Galilee, in the region of the Decapolis. They brought to him a deaf man who had an impediment in his speech; and they begged him to lay his hand on him. Last week, a couple of online surveys came to my attention. Both were from the Pew Research Center (a non-profit, respected group); one was about public knowledge of science, the other about religion. If you haven’t taken them, they are very short (13 and 15 questions each) and will literally...

For those who have not heard yet, Joe and I are leaving Nova Scotia. We love the folks here and have enjoyed our time here but there are many reasons we need to return to the USA. We hope to be loaded and on the road June 3rd. Your prayers for us are welcome and we will continue to pray for all of you.

The Re-Birth of Milton Christian Church

A small group of Milton Christian Church members have been attending "Heartstorming" meetings, to discuss and dream about what our next steps should be as we continue to try and follow God's will for our congregation. This afternoon, the seven members attending the 5th session have come to some conclusions. One consensus that was arrived at was that our 149 year old Church building has outlived its usefulness as both a facility for congregational life and as a witness to God's intent for the community of Milton. This led to some "thinking outside the box" as to where God might be leading us next in our ministry and witness to our community. Several "dreams", in no particular order, that were discussed include 1.) building a senior living facility, including a chapel for worship, on our current site or a nearby site. 2.) building a "legacy chapel" on the current site which would be environmentally friendly, taking advantage of the natural beauty of our property, with an "open concept" that would allow the community more use of the facility. 3.) to construct a multi-purpose building that could be easily accessed by the community, giving our congregation many more ways to minister to and interact with our community. A second consensus arrived at by the group was the value of keeping our resources in Milton and so honouring the intent of those who endowed us so generously in past generations.
