Faithful to God to the end.....even at 100+ years old. She fought a good fight, she finished the course, she kept the faith. Now what?? A crown of righteousness and eternity with Jesus! She will be missed!
Hazel Charlotte Flemming 1920-2021
The passing of Hazel (Gill) Flemming of Millville, NB occurred on October 6, 2021 at her home. Born in Ufton, England on December 3, 1920, she was the daughter of the late William and Doris (Field) Gill. She moved to Millville when she was five years old.
Hazel will be lovingly remembered as the matriarch of her family. In her early years she provided care for many of her younger siblings, her grandchildren and took in many boarders. She was a devoted member and volunteer of the Millville United Pentecostal Church and was an avid fundraiser for Mother’s Memorial. She belonged to the Millville Senior Circle Group and enjoyed going on bus trips with the club. She loved family gatherings and her last special one took place on her 100th birthday.
Hazel is survived by her daughters, Rowena Wallace (Clinton), Barbara McHatten (Lorne), Shirley McConaghy; a brother, Stanley Gill; her six grandchildren, Randy, Kevin, Leanna, Angela, Gregory and Natalie; several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Willard Flemming; a daughter, Evelyn Flemming; granddaughter, Carla (McHatten) Craig; son-in-law, Reginald McConaghy and ten siblings, Richard, Doreen, Kathleen, Hilda, Jim, Ken, Alex and Rosealie and two infant siblings, Donald and Stella.
Due to Covid 19, the funeral will be private.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Hazel, the family has suggested the Hawkins Corner Cemetery.
