Back at Vestry we commited ourselves to participate in the work of the The Communion Forest especially by partnering with local agencies in our community, as part of our Social Justice Vestry motion.
On Tuesday June 9th, (with a rain date of June the 10th), we are going to join one of our parishioners and hiking church members for a morning of pulling Garlic Mustard out of the Copeland Forest. This invasive species crowds out space for many native wildflowers and can rapidly take over fields and forests. We do this to do the work of Protecting and Restoring a part of our local ecosystem.
While we do this work, Margaret has promised to help us learn about the other native wildflowers and plants that are a part of our local forest, and maybe even suggest a good couple recipes for eating this invasive plant.
To Sign up Email [email protected] (I will send out location and details for which lot of the copeland forest we are meeting at).
