John the Baptist generation !

“And to you I prophesy, my little son, you will be known as the prophet of the Most High. You will be a forerunner, going before the face of Lord Yahweh, to prepare hearts to embrace his ways. You will preach to his people the revelation of salvation, the cancellation of all our sins, to bring us back to God. The splendor-light of heaven’s glorious sunrise is about to break upon us in holy visitation, all because the merciful heart of our God is so very tender. The word from heaven will come to us with dazzling light to shine upon those who live in darkness, near death’s dark shadow. And he will illuminate the path that leads to the way of peace.” Afterward, their son grew up and was strengthened by the Holy Spirit and he grew in his love for God. John chose to live in the lonely wilderness until the day of his public appearance to Israel.”

10 things I’ve learned over the last decade #40❣️

1. Don’t be half yourself because someone can’t handle all of you (Matthew 5:14)
2. Always stay humble & kind (Proverbs 15:33 tpt, Ephesians 4:32)
3. Don’t compare your insides to someone else’s outsides
4. Noone on their deathbed asks for material things, it’s your relationship with Jesus & others that really matters (Luke 22:37-40)
5. God will only refine what was already on fire. Surrender & know the gold is coming (1 Peter 1:7)
6. Life is not about achieving goals – even Godly ones. It’s all about cultivating INTIMACY with Jesus in everything.
7. You experience God on the mountaintops, but you get to know Him in the valleys & most of life is the climb. (Romans 8:28)
8. Laughter really is the best medicine (Proverbs 17:22)
9. Revival looks a lot like healthy family (Malachi 4:6)
10. Be yourself, because everyone else is already taken (Psalm 139)

And my prayer today (maybe you want to make it yours too)…
“Set me on fire Lord, & let me burn for You all the days of my life.” ~ Nate Johnston

Happy Heavenly birthday granddad!

30 years ago today you graduated to Heaven, but your legacy lives on. Even though I was only almost 10 when you went home, THANK YOU for the Godly legacy you have given to me. I know it’s because of yours and grandma’s prayers that I am not only here today, but I love Jesus so much. Last year Aunt Linda sent me a bit more of your history that I didn’t know. You went to McMaster University to become a teacher (like I did) and sang in the gospel choir (like I did)! And ultimately you felt the call to ministry (like I did lol) so you pursued seminary. I remember grandma saying that while you were teaching English to newcomers in Canada, you saw a deeper need, their need for Jesus – for the love, purpose and eternal life that only Jesus could provide. The Lord has been speaking the word “pioneer” to me a lot in the last few years, and it turns out the first charge that you and grandma were given after you became an ordained minister was in a place in British Columbia called “Pioneer”!! You guys had 3 or 4 churches to Pastor and the roads were treacherous through the mountains. I love that you were willing to go where God sent you to bring the love of Jesus.

I think what strikes me most about your story granddad is that it was actually in B.C. at one of the services you were conducting at your church, that you had invited an evangelist to come minister. The first few nights he preached a salvation message, that Jesus saves now, that you don’t have to wait! He preached the message of grace & mercy to cover sins, not trying to earn God’s love, that Jesus’ sacrifice was freely given and freely we can receive. Finally, granddad you humbled yourself and went to the altar and received Jesus for the first time in front of your whole congregation, because up to that point you were trying to work hard to prove yourself to God, but it was in humble surrender to the love and power of Jesus that you found life and spent your whole life and ministry from that point on (40 years in full time ministry) leading people to that same loving, merciful, Saviour Jesus that you met in your own church that day. It has made all the difference in the lives of so many-including me!

Thank you for loving me, praying for me, and encouraging me from a young age. You had me sing my first solo in church when I was just 8 at the Christmas Eve service. Thank you for believing in what God put inside of me, and helping to fan it into flame. Thank you for bringing me on ministry trips to hear you preach with grandma, and taking time to have fun, quality family time as well on those trips!

Grandad, you were an evangelist at heart, a missionary, a minister of the gospel and I think of you often. Lastly, you faced opposition. Some churches you pastored didn’t want altar calls, and thought that was too radical. You didn’t back down, but stayed strong in your Biblical & Holy Spirit convictions. I love you for it. I know a big reason I am who I am today is because of you, even if I only got to know you for about a decade this side of Heaven.

Finally, I know you would LOVE Wade & Maranatha. I receive the fire of the Holy Spirit that you planted in my heart as a kid, and we’re running with it! Maranatha – Come Lord Jesus, our Lord comes!

These pictures from a few weeks ago honestly make me so happy! And these beautiful friends are more than worth a full post. & you were two of my very first friends after my born again experience. You truly loved me at my darkest and on my highest mountaintops & vice versa. I love that I can just be myself with you both. I love that we can talk life, marriage, Jesus, kiddos, laugh, cry - all of it & we always point each other back to Jesus & pray together – no matter where we are. I’m so thankful for friends I’ve known for a long time, and new friends I’m starting to build relationship with! If there’s a friend in your life you’re thankful for, tell them today! You will never regret encouraging someone & sharing love.

“True friends are never apart. Maybe in distance, but never in heart.”

“I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”

“I believe that there will be many storylines that bring God’s people to a place of desperation for Him to move in our generation. The primary purpose of God is bringing you to that point. He’s bringing you to the place where you will shed tears- tears for REVIVAL. He’s bringing you past the place of words to release tongues for revival. He’s bringing you to the altar where you will labor with Him- where you will travail for revival.

Beloved, all the tears of individuals are coming together and provoking corporate tears for revival. His Spirit is being poured out in these last days. Revival is breaking out all over the world. Miracles, signs, wonders, deliverances, salvations, baptisms, hearts on fire for Jesus- all of these are transpiring. And I just want to shout. “LET IT ALL COME, GOD!”
