💚On March 7, 2026, We Care for You Charity in partnership with Sri Shakyamuni Mahamewnawa Bhawana Asapuwa in Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka, came together to support children affected by the devastating impacts of Cyclone Ditwa.
Severe floods and landslides left many families without essential items, including school supplies. In response, we invited students from surrounding villages—Mathurata, Madulla, Katukithula, Nuwara Eliya, Walapane, Hawa Eliya, Nildandahinna, Harasbedda, Pudaluoya, Rambodagama, Malhawa, and Kumbal Oluwa—to receive much-needed support.
Through a heartfelt ceremony, over 630 students were provided with new backpacks, books, pens, pencils, shoes, water bottles, and more—helping them return to school with confidence and hope. ✏️ A warm meal was also shared with the children and their families, bringing comfort and community during a difficult time.
🙏🏼 We humbly share the merit of this offering with Pinwath Lokuswaminvanshe, all Devas, and monks and nuns around the world, as well as the Mahamewnawa Monastery. Our deepest gratitude goes to everyone across Canada who donated and to all members of We Care for You Charity for making this possible.
