I WANT TO SEE: SHOW THE WAY

On Sunday, August 30th we received the I WANT TO SEE: SHOW THE WAY from Pastor Q Wilson, taught from John 1:1-9. The fifth and final instalment of this series, centred around seeing our lives and seeing the world through the Word of God. After all of the wisdom imparted onto us throughout this series, the price and the responsibility of being able to see was shared with us. Our responsibility, and our purpose as believers is to show people the way the way to Christ. Forfeiting our lives, using our gifts and all of the things the Light that created all things has given us to go into the world and preach the gospel to all of creation.

As believers we often ask ourselves, and ask God, “what is MY purpose.” The result of being able to see is the understanding that as John the Baptist was sent from God he was sent to follow God’s purpose for his life. We are no different, our purpose is not our gift, our purpose is not what we are talented in doing, our purpose is to fulfill God’s will in our lives. However, we need to be able to see God, and to hear God, and to know God to be in alignment with the Light of life which is Jesus Christ.

Allow this series to renew your mind, and give you knowledge. Remember, gifts come without repentance but anointing comes with a cost.

I WANT TO SEE: WHO DO PEOPLE SAY I AM

On Sunday, August 23rd we received the I WANT TO SEE: WHO DO PEOPLE SAY I AM from Pastor Q Wilson, taught from Matthew 16:13-20. The fourth instalment of this series, centred around the gift of spiritual sight and achieving oneness with God. This was a message of discernment and wisdom. A word to completely re-route our lives specifically those who are in the process of following Christ but have lost sight of which way is up and which way is down. Although we identify as believers of Christ there are many of us that really have no clue who we are, what our purpose and our calling is, and how to find those answers. Based upon this message the reason we’re not able to figure out these monumental things in our lives is because we search first the natural instead of the spiritual.

When Jesus asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” He already knew who he was, but he asked to see if the people closest to him understood who and what he was. As believers, as children of God often times we will make the monumental mistake of asking the people around us to tell us about ourselves, before we go to our Creator. People can, and will say all sorts of things about us, but in truth, none of that matters. What matters is what the Word of God says about our lives, and what the Lord has told us personally within the confines of our relationships with him.

The revelation and the blessing of knowing who Christ is gave Simon Peter the opportunity to know what he had been called to be. As Christ told Simon Peter his true name he also revealed the blessings that he has in store for him. Don’t live life another day attached to what you’ve not been called to be.
