What We Believe

We believe in one God, who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and the Savior of all men and women who put their faith in Him alone for eternal life. Those who receive new life in Christ are called to be holy in character and conduct, and can only live this way by being filled with the Lord's Spirit. We call this change "entire sanctification." We believe in the Bible and seek to est

ablish our faith and actions on it's teaching. We believe God wills for people everywhere to know Him and that the purpose of the Church is to tell the world about Christ through its worship, witness, and loving deeds. What We Teach & Practice

The Bible: The Bible is the highest source of written authority for God's plan for His people; it reveals how to live out that plan, individually and corporately. Beliefs, practices, priorities are to be anchored in clear biblical teachings. Christlikeness: Jesus Christ is the defining feature of God's will for all humanty. He gives the highest and most practical example for holy living or godliness. Christ also strengthens us to pursue integrity, excellence, faith, hope, and love. Disciple-Making: Making disciples is a clear mandate from Christ. This requires a strong focus on evangelism and training in spiritual growth and holy living. Done effectively, this will produce and promote growth and health in and among the churches. Local Church Centered: Our denomination exists to serve local congregations. It strives to serve and strengthen congregations as the most strategic points for evangelism and discipleship. Servant Leadership: We respect the leadership placed over us. The authority and effectiveness of spiritual leadership is not primarily bestowed, but earned as leaders with loving and willing hearts serve God and mankind gladly! Unity In Diversity: There is intrinsic value in every person. Unity becomes all the more important and beautiful in the light of the wide ranges of difference in personality, culture, race, talents, and perspectives. Loving each other eliminates devaluation and deprivation of life to one another.

The Great Invitation

He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. (1 Thess. 5:10)

Expanded Passage: Colossians 4:2-6; 1 Peter 5:6-11; 2 Peter 3:10-15; Mark 13:32-37; Ephesians 6:10-18; 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11

I met a president of the United States once. He shook my hand, and we chatted for a minute. He was polite enough, but I could tell I didn’t mean much to him. Someone whispered in his ear so he could call me by name, but he knew nothing about me—where I lived or what I did to help pay his salary. We met, but we never became friends. He doesn’t call and ask me to come to his house and spend time with him. If he saw me out somewhere, he would not call me by name or remember that we had met before.

I have a friend who lives in a better place than the White House. He knows my name, where I live, what I do, and what my dreams are. He loves me enough that one day he chose to die so we could have an eternal friendship. While hanging on a cross, he signed the great invitation. He even went ahead and prepared a place for me in his kingdom and has invited me to come there, not just for a visit, but to live with him.

The wonderful thing is that there is room at his place for all of us to “live together with him.” We have everything we need in him to do that and wait with anticipation for him to come and get us.

Share the invitation to meet Jesus and live in his place.

Make the Hurt Go Away

The God of all grace . . . after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. (1 Peter 5:10)

Expanded Passage: 1 Peter 5:6-11

Most pain doesn’t last forever. Hit your thumb with a hammer, and you will experience instant and intense pain. In that moment you probably aren’t rational enough to think that in a day or two it won’t hurt anymore, but a process of healing has already begun—even while the hurt remains.

Suffering is not always physical. In fact, emotional, relational, and circumstantial suffering can often be more painful than a whack on the thumb. Even God’s people can suffer intensely and think the hurt will never end. But usually it does. Suffering is usually for “a little while.” But even if it seems to go on and on, at some point God will restore you.

The God of grace is always moving toward restoring that which is broken and hurting. He moves that direction in our lives and in our world. He seeks to redeem our broken and suffering world. Right now it is one life at a time, but soon he will make all things new and whole.

Meanwhile, God can take the painful places of our lives and redeem them. He can restore wholeness in us. He can fix what is broken and make us stronger in those places.

Our sufferings intensify when we struggle with them alone. Casting our anxieties on the Lord more quickly moves us from hurting toward healing.

Turn your hurting place over to God and let him restore you.
