Congrats Billy! Thanks for all that you do!

The Municipality of Inverness County is proud to recognize St Joseph's Parish of South West Margaree's volunteer of the year, Billy MacLeod. Billy has been volunteering since he was a young man, helping with whatever the parish needed. Whether he is assisting with cleaning, preparing the church for celebrations, or doing carpentry jobs, Billy can always been counted on to show up with a cheerful attitude and a willingness that shows his true character. For over 40 years, Billy has been responsible for decorating the church for the Christmas season, something which his fellow parishioners are deeply grateful for. The countless hours he puts in to supporting the Parish, and creating a festive atmosphere during the hollidays have not gone unnoticed. Congratulations Billy!

St. Michael’s Cemetery - Summer is upon us: we continue to maintain the resting place of our loved ones. Please consider a contribution to our cemetery. In your box of envelopes, there is a yellow envelope for June 7; if you prefer, a self-addressed envelope to "CEMETERY" would be gladly accepted. Our newest project is a memorial in honor of "the babies and children who were buried on the edge of our cemetery and have no marked graves". As well, a plaque is being prepared for the Calvary monument. We are most grateful to those who joined us on Cemetery Day! We truly appreciate your time and help.

Parish Pastoral Council Nominations -
Thank you to those who have already submitted nominations for the new Parish Pastoral Council. Nominations will remain open for one additional week, and nomination forms and the nomination box will remain available at the entrance of each church.
The Parish Pastoral Council is a small consultative group that meets with the pastor periodically throughout the year to discuss parish life and to offer advice, ideas, and support in the pastoral mission of the Church. Meetings are intended to be simple, practical, and focused on the needs and life of our parish communities. Council members are not expected to “run the parish” or take on large workloads. Rather, the goal is simply to have a group of parishioners willing to gather a few times each year for prayer, conversation, and collaboration as we work together to strengthen parish life. Parishioners may nominate another person or may self-nominate.
Please continue to keep this process in your prayers.

46th Anniversary Celebration -
The Margaree Kinette family has reached their 46th year as a club serving our community’s greatest need. We are reaching out to all our former Kinettes in hopes that you can join us for an evening of celebration to mark this great achievement. We will gather at the Margaree Forks Firehall at 7 p.m. on June 5 to reminisce, to share some laughs of years gone by, enjoy some snacks and great entertainment from 8 to 10 p.m. by our very own talented Louis Arsenault. Hope you can join us. It is open to everyone over the age of 19.
