📣Today is Abuse Awareness Sunday. The abuse awareness topic for 2026 is The Courage to Stand for the Truth.

Truth-telling is costly, but it is essential. It is not always easy to face uncomfortable realities, yet the courage to stand up for truth calls us to reject cover-ups and demand accountability. Too often, silence shields abuse and protects the powerful instead of the vulnerable. Fear can keep us quiet, but the church is called to a courageous witness. God commands us to be strong and courageous, promising to be with us wherever we go (Joshua 1:9). To stand up for truth means to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God (Micah 6:8).

On this Abuse Awareness Sunday, let us renew our commitment to truth so that the vulnerable are protected and healing and hope are possible.

This past Easter Sunday, we said a heartfelt farewell to Pastor Mary-Lee as she completed her time with us. We are so grateful for her steady leadership, care, and presence during this season of transition. She has been such a gift to our church community!

As she now steps into her Sisters Walking Together ministry, we send her with our love, prayers, and deepest thanks. May God continue to guide and bless her in this next chapter.

As we reflect on Good Friday and the joy of Easter weekend, we’re reminded of the depth of Christ’s love and the hope found in His resurrection. The Lenten season has been a blessed time of reflection, surrender, and drawing nearer to God. Now as we move forward into spring, remember that He is risen, He is risen indeed!

He is risen! 🌅 Today we celebrate Easter Sunday: the day hope conquered the grave and love had the final word. Jesus is alive, and because of Him, we have new life, new beginnings, and a living hope.

“Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen!” – Luke 24:5-6

Jesus crucifixion is one of betrayal. Denial. Cowardice. Envy. Hate. Brutality. Suffering. Despair. Defeat. Death.

Yet, Christians celebrate the cross because the story does not end on that fateful Friday. It does not end at the cross. The irony of the cross was the very instrument Jesus' enemies used to defeat Him became His greatest victory. Little did they know when Friday ended what would happen on Sunday to change the course of the world's history.

And so in the spirit of this theme, I want to share a part of that famous sermon by Lockridge. As you read this, just remember that regardless of what today brings. Regardless of today's problems. Challenges. Or defeats. Just remember that Sunday's coming! And that you will enjoy the privilege of celebrating the resurrection of Jesus. Communing with Him and fellow saints. And beginning a new week with renewed vision, vigor and vitality.

Ever wonder what the "Maundy" in Maundy Thursday means?

The name “Maundy” comes from the Latin "mandatum", meaning “command” or “mandate.” It points us to the new commandment given by Jesus Christ at the Last Supper: “Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another” (John 13:34). On this day, we remember the meal Jesus shared with His disciples and the humility He showed in washing their feet.

As we journey towards the cross, we invite you to join us for our Good Friday service tomorrow evening at 6:00pm.
