Hello Everyone! We are gearing up for the fall season at the Refuge. It is a time of stark beauty, less mosquitos, harvesting and processing vegetables from our garden, and the Project Rachel Retreat. What is project Rachel? From our website:
Project Rachel is providing post-abortion help in a confidential and non-judgemental way which always includes peer ministry, for women and men who are still hurting as a result of a past abortion experience.

Hello Everyone. Today I am highlighting another opportunity in our Dinner Speaker Series. On August 13th we have Fr. Geoffrey Ready coming to speak about preparation for the Feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God. Fr. Ready is director of Orthodox Christian Studies at University of Toronto's Trinity College. Come learn more about this wonderful feast!

Hello Everyone! Our Dinner Guest Speaker Series are continuing with more insightful and profound guests. On August 6th we have Sr. Mary Rowell coming to talk to us about ‘God and Hope Wait for Us in the Mists of our Time.’ Come and enjoy a meal and hear a speaker who is good for the soul. Sr. Mary works in retreat facilitation and spiritual accompaniment and has lived and worked around the world. There are many wonderful, engrossing, entertaining and grace-filled events upcoming at the Refuge this summer! We are going to begin to highlight some of them here. Here's our Summer 2026 Dinner Speaker Series.

The first of our speakers is Jane Rupert. Jane will be speaking July 30. Her topic is 'Saint John Henry Newman: Faith and Reason in a Secular Society'. It should be an informative, instructive and profound evening for all. The poster below will tell you about more of the speakers who will visit the Refuge this summer.

Iconography is an ancient art and form of contemplation and prayer. It is central to Eastern Christian spirituality. The Refuge is offering the opportunity to learn some of this wonderful skill from an experienced Iconographer, Nicolae Gavriliu, all in the beauty and quiet of the Refuge.
