A photo that belonged to Gerald "Willard" Pond, who lived his entire life at the top of MacVicar's Hill, Catalone. The house was torn down last year, but was on the property just up from my farm, (Kenneth MacKenzie) and was a part of the original 400 Acre MacVicar Land Grant, of which my 101 Acre farm was also a part, being built by John J. MacVicar. Willard was raised by the MacVicar family and inherited the home and 100 acre farm. Willard was organist and choir director at St. James Presbyterian Church in Catalone. This photo hung inside the St. James Hall across the street form the church on the Main-a-Dieu highway. On the reverse of the photo is the inscription by Willard himself. ""I WAS ORGANIST IN THIS CHURCH. ST. JAMES CHURCH SINCE 1942 --STARTED 1942. SIGNED GERALD W. POND. CATALONE C.B.""
Roberta Perry gave me this last Sunday to add to the photo archives I am making for the upcoming 100th Anniversary celebrations on Sunday September 13th at 3 p.m.
