24ième CATÉCHÈSE: Les prières d’intercession (22 février 2026)
Présentateur : Bonjour et Bienvenue à la paroisse Notre-Dame-de-Lorette
Ce dimanche, le premier dimanche de Carême, Saison A, nous continuons à présenter une brève
catéchèse sur chaque partie de la messe afin de nous aider à mieux comprendre la signification de toute
la célébration eucharistique. Les présentations correspondront aux quatre parties de la messe dont
les rites d’ouverture,
la liturgie de la Parole,
la liturgie Eucharistique et
les rites de conclusion
qui sont réparties en 38 courtes catéchèses. Aujourd'hui, nous commençons l'explication de la 24e leçon
- les prières d’intercession, sixième composante de la prière eucharistique.
Ces prières sont des formules qui recommandent tous les humains, vivants et morts, à Dieu par
l’intercession des saints.
À ce moment de la messe, nous prions :
pour les vivants (les pasteurs de l’Église : le Pape, l’évêque du diocèse, l’ensemble des évêques,
les prêtres, les diacres et tout le peuple)
et pour les défunts.
Par ces prières, toute l’Église, celle du ciel et celle de la terre, participe à la fonction sacerdotale du Christ

24th CATECHESIS: Prayers of intercession (February 22, 2026 – Adrienne Dennison)
Presenter: Good morning and welcome to the parish of Notre-Dame-de-Lorette
This Sunday, 1st Sunday of Lent (Season A), we will continue to present a brief catechesis on each part
of the Mass to help us better understand the meaning of the entire Eucharistic celebration. The
presentations will correspond to the four parts of the Mass which are:
• The Introductory Rites
• The Liturgy of the Word
• The Liturgy of the Eucharist and
• The Concluding Rites
The presentations are divided into 38 short catechesis. Today we begin the explanation of the 24th
lesson – Prayers of intercession, sixth component of the Eucharistic prayer.
These prayers are formulas that recommend all the members of the whole Church, living and dead, to
God through the intercession of the saints.
At this moment of the Mass, we pray:
➢for the living (the pastors of the Church: The Pope, the Bishop of the diocese with his priests and
deacons, all the bishops of the world, political leaders and all humanity)
➢for the deceased.
Through these prayers, the whole Church, that of heaven and earth, participates in the priestly
