Business & Nonprofit Green Bin Collection Opportunity

The City of London’s City Council recently approved a new program that allows eligible businesses and nonprofits to participate in the City’s weekly curbside Green Bin collection program.

Access to City curbside Green Bin collection services can help reduce your garbage while contributing to the City’s organic waste diversion program, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions and supports sustainability goals. Participation in the Green Bin program is voluntary and there is no cost to participate.

To be eligible to participate in the Green Bin program, your business or nonprofit must:
-Be located on an existing City of London residential curbside collection route;
-Produce a similar amount of organic waste to a residential household;
-Not be required by the Ontario Food and Organic Waste Policy Statement to have a source separation program for food and organic waste.

The City of London will provide participating businesses and nonprofits with one (1) 45 litre Green Bin to set curbside for collection, one (1) kitchen container for indoor use, program information and a collection schedule. For more information on the City’s Green Bin program, please see: london.ca/greenbin.

If you believe your business or nonprofit is eligible and are interested in participating or would like more information, please contact William Roberts at [email protected] or 519-661-2489 ext. 7364 by July 31, 2026. Eligible businesses who do not respond by this date can reach out to join the
Green Bin program in future.
