As human begins, we have the ability to communicate with one another through the use of words. The words that we choose to use and the tone in which we choose to say them can either build someone up and make a situation better or they can tear someone down and make a situation worse. The choice is ours. As we choose our words and our tone, may we take to heart the words of wisdom found in Proverbs 15:1…”A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare." (New Living Translation). Harshness builds walls while gentleness builds bridges. As we interact with others, may our goal always be to build more bridges than walls. May we choose gentleness over harshness!

What a feast that we enjoyed at our Seniors' Fellowship BBQ & Pot Luck at lunch today! After testing our summer knowledge with a quiz, we were reminded during our time of devotions of the privilege that we have of being able to get together like this!

A special thank you to Majors Dale & Debbie Steward (Retired) for their leadership of this group! Their hard work in planning our monthly meetings is very much appreciated!

This was our last Seniors' Fellowship before the summer months. Seniors' Fellowship will resume in September.

Partners In Mission (PIM) is an annual fundraising campaign that gives Salvation Army churches the opportunity to support the various ministries and services that The Salvation Army operates in the developing world. This year, our focus countries were Costa Rica and Panama.

In 2026, our church's goal was to raise $5,500 toward PIM. Throughout the months of April & May, we have been working toward that goal through a few different initiatives...general giving, a Bake Sale as well as our Face Your Food Fear Challenge: Ceviche Edition.

During our Worship Gathering this morning, we shared the amazing news that our church surpassed our goal by raising $7,281.76 for PIM. We also revealed the results of our Face Your Food Fear Challenge: Ceviche Edition. Because Austin and Sammi tied (raising $1,429.88 each), they both ate ceviche for the very first time. Ceviche is a popular Latin American cold appetizer consisting of fresh, raw fish marinated in citrus juice, typically lime or lemon. It is usually mixed with chili peppers, onions, and herbs. Thank you Austin and Sammi for being such good sports!

Thank you to everyone who helped to make our 2026 Partners In Mission Campaign a success by contributing to this important project!

Our church offers the PAL Program, which pairs our junior members with an adult who commits to being a source of encouragement and prayer for them. Every so often all of our PALs get together for a time of fellowship. Tonight our PALs had lots of fun as we played mini golf at East Park! Because today is National Donut Day, we enjoyed some donuts afterwards too!
