Jesus said “I am the way . . .” He meant he is more than a path to follow. If his “way” is imposed on life it will become a burden at some point.

Jesus is not offering a system to follow. He is offering himself. It is like the Inuit guide who took explorers on a trek across frozen ice and uncharted arctic terrain. Fearing they were lost the explorers asked their guide how he knew the way? He replied “There is no “way,” “I am the way”.

What Jesus offers us is inward, intimate and ultimate. He is the “way”, follow Him.

Jesus is the divine “Yes! And Amen!”. When we discover Jesus, and engage with Him on a personal level, our whole being acknowledges “Jesus is the authentic “way”! Everything in the universe acknowledges this truth for it is through Him and for Him all things were created.

Someone rightly said John 1:1-5 ought be emblazoned on a brass plaque and mounted on every door for all to see!

Do you want all that is authentic? Put your life in the hands of the most trustworthy person in the universe: the God-man Jesus of Nazareth.
