Our "Vap Pohoya Seela Samadana" will be held on Sunday 20th October 2024 from 09.00 to 1:00PM under the leadership of Ven. kahawanugoda Wimaladhamma Thero.
The "Uthuru Saluwa" required for the devotees observing sil have been prepared by the temple.

After successfully completing the rituals carried out for the Katina Cheewaraya for three months during the “Wassana” season, Katina Cheearaya will be offered to our monks, Ven. Indiparape Dhammasiri Thero and Venerable Kahawanugoda Wimaladhamma Thero, on Sunday 27th October.

You all are cordially invited to participate in this meritorious event. The venue and time will be communicated soon.

While Hasitha, Rasika & family bears the main sponsorship of this year, everyone can get involved in this great event by contributing in below three main segments and accumulate merits.
Event is currently being planned for a participation of 15 monks along with 100 devotees.

1. Dahawal Daanaya - දහවල් දානය
For 15 monks and about 100 devotees

2. Pirikara - පිරිකර - For 15 monks

3. Kapruk Poojawa කප්රුක් පූජාව
භව ගමනේදී සිතූ පැතූ සම්පත් ලගා කර ගැනීමට උපකාරී වන පින්කමකි. You can donate anything you prefer in small quantities.

Hope we all agree that we need a Buddhist temple in London which serves the spiritual needs of devotees living in London and sorrouding areas.
However, the interim committee is currently accessing the feasibility of continuing our temple beyond current 'Wassana Season' and 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡.
While thanking everyone who contribute to the temple in various methods, current financial donations by a small number of devotees do not even cover the basic operational costs of the temple.

Please note that the service from the temple is equal to everyone irrespective of the amount donated by each individual.
"Udayarama Centre for Buddhist Studies and Meditation" is a registered non-profit organization in Canada, so all the funds are accounted, audited and you will receive the tax receipt at the end of each tax year.
Monthly income/expense statement will be available in the member portal soon for better transparency of the temple finances.

දහම් පාසල් ආරම්භය-2024-2025 අධ්‍යයන වර්ෂය

ගිම්හාන නිවාඩුවෙන් පසු නව අධ්‍යයන වර්ෂය සදහා අප පංසලේ පවත්වාගෙන යන දහම්පාසල 2024.09.08 ඉරිදා දින සවස 3.00ට ස්වාමින්වහන්සේගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් ආරම්භ විය. එය සෑම සති දෙකකට වරක් ඉරිදා සවස 3.00ට පැවැත්වේ.

මේ දිනවල ගිලන්ව ලන්කාවේ වැඩ සිටින අප විහාරස්ථානයේ විහාරාධිපති පූජ්‍ය ඉදිපරපේ ධම්මසිරි ස්වාමීන් වහන්සේට ඉක්මන් සුවය ප්‍රාර්ථනා කිර්‍රම සදහා විශේෂ ගිලන්පස බුද්ධ පූජාවක් හෙට දින (අගොස්තු 29) සවස 7.00 ට පූජ්‍ය කහවනුගොඩ විමලදම්ම ස්වාමීන් වහන්සේගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් අප විහාරස්ථානයේදී පැවැත්වේ. මේ අවස්තාවට සහභාගී වීමට ඔබ සැමට කරුණාවෙන් ආරාධනා කරමු.

Since many are concerned about health of Ven. Bhante Dharmasiri, this is a brief update (Thanking Priyan for the update from Sri Lanka)
About 2 weeks ago, while in London, a biopsy done on a small bump on his leg revealed that it was a fast growing cancer. He was advised to get immediate treatment. Due to the lack of medical insurance for Bhante in Canada, he flew to Sri Lanka. He got all the tests done and opted to get the surgery done at Maharagama as opposed to Asiri due to the cost. He was admitted on Wednesday and surgery is scheduled for the 30th. He is in good spirits, considering the seriousness of the cancer,often saying as a Buddhist we have to be an example. You must already know that 'Katina Cheevara Puja' is one of the ten great merits and the most powerful merit among those merits. So, if you would like to participate in this great occasion and host 'Katina Cheevaraya' at your home and offer sacrifices, please note your details in the following spreadsheet and let us know.
