🥫 Give Them Something to Eat: September Food Bank Drive 🥫📍 Drop-off Location: churches of the Anglican Parish of South Queens

🗓️ When: Every Sunday in September during Communion
🛒 Items Needed: Canned stews and canned spaghettis
This September, we invite everyone who is able to bring canned stews or canned spaghettis as part of our communion offering.
During our services, these gifts will be offered up to God for His blessing. This offering reflects our response to Jesus’ words to the disciples at the feeding of the five thousand in Matthew 14:16 — “They need not go away; you give them something to eat.”
Each week throughout September, these items will be gathered and delivered directly to our local Food Bank to help support neighbors in need.

Thank you for your generosity and for being the hands and feet of Christ in our community! ❤️

Calling all idle fingers itching to be stitching again!
We, the Mother’s Union of the Parish of South Queens, would like to start knitting blankets or afghans for the people in need of something warm to cover up with.
The idea is to knit or crochet 8-inch squares in any colour yarn and any pattern you like to use. If you no longer have needles and/or unused yarn, we can provide them for you. I think any weight yarn and a fairly solid knit pattern.
These squares do not need to be perfect and can be knit by older hands and/or beginners.

🎄 THE CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN HAS BEGUN! 🎄
Yes, we know. It’s only August 28. The sun is shining, the garden is growing, and Christmas seems miles away.
But somewhere, deep in the North Pole, a very organized little elf is already checking the calendar. 😄

The Season of Creation is an annual ecumenical season dedicated to God as creator and sustainer of all life. Christians around the world use this time for prayer, worship and action to care for and protect creation.

From 1 September to 4 October, Anglican churches join Christians from other traditions in marking the Season of Creation, also called Creationtide, through prayer, reflection and action to protect and restore God's gift of creation.

The Season of Creation begins on 1 September, which is observed as the Day of Prayer for Creation and, in many churches, as the Feast of Creation. The Feast can also be celebrated on the first Sunday in September. The season continues until 4 October, the Feast of St Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of ecology.

This year's Season of Creation theme is 'Living Water'.
