This Sunday we kicked off our new series on Hospitality by exploring a powerful truth: we serve a hospitable God.
From the Garden of Eden to the New Jerusalem, the story of Scripture is the story of God making room for people. Before humanity ever knew what it needed, God provided. Even after sin fractured our relationship with Him, God continued to pursue, welcome, and invite us back into fellowship with Himself.
Through Israel, through Jesus, and now through His Church, God has been opening His arms to people who have wandered far from Him. Jesus is the ultimate expression of God's hospitality—the One who left heaven, made room for sinners at His table, and opened the way for us to come home.
As followers of Christ, we are called to reflect that same welcome to others.
"Welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you." (Romans 15:7)
Hospitality is more than sharing a meal or being friendly. It's a living picture of the Gospel. Every time we make room for someone, open our homes, share our tables, or extend kindness, we reflect the heart of a God who first welcomed us.
The door home is still open through Jesus—and we have the privilege of helping others see it.

This Sunday we wrapped up our Character of God series by looking at one of the Bible’s hardest stories: S***m and Gomorrah.
Over the past few weeks we’ve been memorizing Exodus 34:6–7 and discovering who God truly is: “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness...”
One of the big questions we wrestled with this week was how to understand God’s judgment. We were reminded that God does not ignore sin because sin destroys people and brings harm, but we also saw that God is not harsh, cold, or eager to punish. Scripture shows us a God who is compassionate, patient, and desires people to turn to Him and live.
We were challenged with the reality that God sees injustice, cares deeply about it, and judges rightly because His character is good. Even when we do not understand everything, we can trust Him. Jesus calls us not to look back, but to follow Him fully, and His invitation remains open to every person: repent and live.
As we close this series, our prayer is that we would not simply know facts about God, but truly know His heart and experience His love, grace, and truth in our daily lives.

This Sunday in our Character of God series, we looked at Ezekiel 18 and wrestled with one of the more difficult phrases in Scripture: “Does God punish children for the sins of their parents?”
We were reminded that while sin has real consequences and our choices can impact future generations, God does not condemn people because of someone else’s sin. Every person belongs to Him and is invited into relationship with Him.
We also saw God’s heart clearly in Ezekiel 18: “For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone... Repent and live.” God’s desire is not destruction—it’s restoration. He forgives wickedness, rebellion, and sin, and through Jesus offers us a new heart and a new way to live.
No matter your past, your upbringing, or the examples set before you, you are not doomed by your family story. You are not defined by where you came from. Jesus invites each of us: Repent and live.

This Sunday, we continued our series asking the question: What is God like?
Through Exodus 34 and Nehemiah 9, we explored the Hebrew word hesed — God’s steadfast, covenant love. A love that is compassionate, gracious, faithful, and never giving up.
Again and again throughout Scripture, we see the same truth: even when people failed, rebelled, and ran from Him, God remained faithful to who He is.
God does not give us what we deserve — He gives us Himself.
When we truly begin to understand God’s character, it changes how we relate to Him. We no longer have to hide our fear, anxiety, shame, or failure. We can bring it all to Him because His love is not distant or conditional.
He is still the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and abounding in love. 🤍
