When life changes, sometimes the hardest question is not “What do I do now?”

It is:

Who am I now?

This Sunday, we’ll look at John the Baptist — someone who knew who he was, knew who he was not, and found freedom in both.

Maybe that is a question worth exploring for all of us.

🌱 Planting Seeds of Hope to Address World Hunger 🌎
Cambridge Street United Church is excited to be partnering with local supporters on a new growing project in support of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank and its work to help end world hunger. Ten acres of soybeans have been planted near Oakwood on farmland generously donated by the Bruce VandenBerg family, with support from local agricultural suppliers who donated the seed and land preparation.
When the soybeans are harvested in October, the proceeds will be donated to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank. Our hope is to raise approximately $5,000 — and, with Global Affairs Canada matching eligible funds by up to four-to-one, our local efforts can have an even greater impact around the world. 🌱❤️
A big thank-you to everyone who has helped make this project possible, including Phil VandenBerg, a Volunteer Ambassador for the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, and our local farming partners. We look forward to seeing what this little field of soybeans can grow into! Learn more about the Canadian Foodgrains Bank and its work at www.foodgrainsbank.ca

THE SACRED ROAD — GOD WAS SURELY IN THIS PLACE

We set out expecting to arrive in Dorset.
Instead, after winding through the bush on ATVs and side-by-sides, through easy stretches and difficult ones, helping one another when someone got stuck, we ended up in Baysville.
Not where we planned.

But perhaps exactly where we needed to be.

This Sunday we meet Jacob on another unexpected journey. Afraid, uncertain, far from home, he lays his head upon a stone and discovers something extraordinary:

“Surely God is in this place — and I did not know it.”

What if that is true for us too?
What if the sacred journey is not always about reaching the destination we planned, but awakening to the God who was already there?

🌿 God surrounds us.
❤️ Christ walks beside us.
✨ The Spirit moves within us.

This Sunday, come explore what makes a journey sacred — and what Jacob’s story can teach us about the road ahead.

This Sunday, we continue the story of Paul on the road to Damascus — a story of interruption, calling, and grace.

Sometimes the road we are on gets disrupted.

Sometimes life turns in a direction we did not expect.

And sometimes, right there in the disruption, grace begins to speak.

Our message this week is:
Interrupted by Grace

Come worship with us as we reflect on Paul’s call, our own call, and the God who still meets us on the road.

🥳Today is my birthday 🎉🥳🙏
and this year, the gift I would love most is something simple:
Share Still Point with someone who may need a breath.
Someone who feels alone.
Someone who is carrying too much.
Someone whose mind is tired from trying to hold everything together.
Someone who needs a little peace in the middle of an ordinary day.

Still Point 12:10 was created as a small pause for love, hope, peace, and joy — a place to breathe, soften, and remember that we are not alone inside our lives.

So if you would like to give me a birthday gift, share this pause.
Share it with a friend.
Share it with someone overworked.
Share it with someone grieving, waiting, healing, beginning again.
Share it with someone who may never say they are struggling, but quietly is.

Because sometimes the kindest gift is not something we receive.
Sometimes it is something we pass on.

A moment.
A breath.
A little light.
A reminder that love is still moving.
Thank you for helping Still Point reach the people who may need it most. 🌿
