Let Go Your Fear

This Sunday at Lincoln Baptist Church, we were reminded of a timeless truth from Genesis 15: 1-6, before God addressed Abraham’s need, He addressed his fear.

Abram had been blessed in many ways, yet his heart was troubled by what he lacked. God’s response was simple but powerful “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.” (Genesis 15:1)

How often do we allow fear to take center stage in our lives? Fear of the future. Fear of uncertainty. Fear of unanswered prayers. Fear of circumstances beyond our control.

Yet throughout Scripture, God repeatedly says, “Fear not.” Not because life will always be easy, but because His presence is greater than any problem we face.

Today’s message reminded us:

God’s presence dispels fear.
We can honestly pour out our hearts before God without questioning His character. God’s promises are not limited by our circumstances.
Faith grows when we shift our focus from our limitations to God’s limitless power.
We are called to walk by faith, not by sight.

Like Abraham, there may be areas of our lives where we cannot yet see the answer. But the God who knows the end from the beginning remains faithful. What He has promised, He is able to fulfill.

As we begin a new week, may we choose faith over fear, trust over anxiety, and confidence in the God who is our refuge and strength.

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you.” — Isaiah 41:10

What fear do you need to surrender to God today?

STORMS DON’T LAST FOREVER Mark 4:35–41.
Today’s sermon at church was a timely reminder that storms are a part of life but they are never the end of the story.
In Mark 4, the disciples found themselves terrified in the middle of a raging storm while Jesus slept peacefully in the boat. Fear gripped them, yet they forgot one important truth: Jesus was still with them.
How often do we panic when life feels overwhelming?
When the diagnosis comes.
When bills pile up.
When relationships hurt.
When prayers seem unanswered.
Yet, the same God who said to the storm, “Peace, be still,” still speaks peace into troubled hearts today.
One lesson that stayed with me was this: faith is not proven when the sun is shining; faith is proven when thunder shakes the sky and you still choose to trust God.
Storms may delay us.
Storms may test us.
Storms may shake our faith.
But storms do not define our destination.
If God said you are going to the other side, no storm can cancel His promise.
So wherever you are today, hold on. Don’t quit. Don’t lose faith. The storm is temporary, and morning will come.
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” — Psalm 30:5
