Look up from that cursed glass in yer hand, love. Yer real life be happenin' in the other direction.
Yer babes be growin' faster than the tide comes in, right before yer eyes while ye be scrollin'. One moment they be reachin' for yer hand without a thought, tellin' ye a grand tale with their whole little body and if yer eyes be down, ye miss the way they look to ye just before they laugh, just to make sure ye be watchin'. Childhood don't ring no bell when it be over, darlin'. It just quietly shuts the cabin door.
Ye be missin' family moments ye can never plunder back. Not just the birthdays, but the small, ordinary treasures. Yer mam laughin' till she snorts, yer love lookin' at ye across a messy galley like ye still be the best treasure they ever found. We spend all our days tryin' to film it to prove we were there, but we ain't truly there at all. We be hidin' behind the glass.
And ye be sailin' right past yer own crew. That tired soul at the park who knows the same rough seas as ye, that old salt on the bench with a lifetime o' stories and no one left to hear 'em, that stranger in line who could be yer next first mate. Friendship starts with eyes meetin', a true smile, a small word. When we all be lookin' down, we tell each other without meanin' to that the little light in our palm matters more than the heart beatin' right in front of us.
So lift yer gaze, captain. Look up at this sky tonight, this one sunset that'll never come again and listen for that quiet voice inside that only speaks when the seas go still. That be yer own heart tryin' to speak to ye. Ye can't hear it o'er all that scrollin'. This be it, love. This right here be the moment ye were so scared o' missin'.
