Love That Reflects Christ πŸ’

A strong relationship is not built only on feelings β€” it is built on faith.
When a couple puts God at the center, love becomes more than romance. It becomes covenant. It becomes sacrifice. It becomes grace.

The world teaches β€œfollow your heart.”
But the Word teaches us to guard it, lead it, and surrender it to Christ.

πŸ“– β€œAbove all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” β€” 1 Peter 4:8

In marriage and in courtship:
β€’ Choose patience over pride.
β€’ Choose forgiveness over offense.
β€’ Choose prayer over arguments.
β€’ Choose unity over ego.

Remember, love is not proven in perfect days β€” it is proven in difficult ones.

Let your relationship preach the Gospel without words.
Let your home reflect heaven.
Let your love point others to Jesus.
A couple that prays together grows together. β€οΈπŸ™

According to recent studies… 4,000-5,000 pastors quit each year. They don’t quit because they have a lack of faith in God. They don’t quit because they don’t believe in the calling God has placed on their life. Most don’t even quit because of financial reasons.

Pastors quit because they are overwhelmed with mental exhaustion.

Until you’re a pastor you’ll never fully understand what it’s like to carry spiritual burdens for people. Getting up in the middle of night, praying for your family of faith. Awakened in the middle of night with someone on your heart. Overwhelmed with concern by a persons absence or distance.

Your mind continually occupied with the presentation of the upcoming Sunday message - how to preach it, what to teach on, how do we apply it? Getting critiqued on a continual basis.

Being told you need to do better or that some areas of the church simply need to be better.
Pastors invest their whole life into people and yet people will turn their backs on their pastor at the first sign of a storm, usually without a conversation. Pastors stand in the middle of disputes.
Pastors stand in the middle of gossip.
Pastors council broken marriages.
Pastors comfort those who have suffered loss. Pastors navigate the waters of imperfect people with a desire to see each one thrive in their faith.

They long for spiritual breakthroughs. Your pastor craves the very best for you. All of this, while trying to battle their own flesh and grow in their own relationship with God.
Pastors see the posts.
Pastors hear the whispers.
Pastors endure the negativity.
Pastors are continually caring for the sheep while fending off the wolves.
Pastors pour out and pour out - rarely being poured into.

What keeps a pastor going? YOU!

You - the person who is genuinely hungry.
You - the person who worships with passion and freedom.
You - the teenager who is striving to be a follower of Jesus.
You - the single mom who understands the beauty of the hope found in Christ.
You - the one who walks through the door for the first time because you’re in search of peace, hope, and community.

Pray for your pastor. Serve with your pastor.
Talk with your pastor. Encourage your pastor.
They are human. They need You more than you think!

What does 1 Corinthians 11:27 mean?
Scripture often warns us that God's instructions are not to be taken lightly (Galatians 6:7; Hebrews 2:2–3; Deuteronomy 30:15). Even when the consequences of disobedience aren't immediate, they can be devastating (Romans 2:5). Here, Paul reveals the high stakes for those participating in the Lord's Supper in an "unworthy manner." The Corinthian Christians had been doing exactly that: using the Lord's Supper gathering as a freewheeling party of sorts, with the wealthy believers treating the poorer believers badly (1 Corinthians 11:17–22).

Paul writes that blatant ungodliness while eating the bread and drinking the cup of the Lord's Supper will cause them to be guilty of sinning against the blood and body of Christ. In a sense, Paul is saying that the person who does this becomes liable for the Lord's death. Symbolically, communion is meant to commemorate the sacrificial death of Jesus on the cross. Those who treat such an event as a party, or take it in a careless way, are not entirely unlike those who stood by and laughed while Jesus died (Matthew 27:38–44). Or the indifferent soldiers who pursued pleasure as He bled to death (John 19:23–24).

Unlike those real-life bystanders, born-again Christians are supposed to know the meaning and importance of the crucifixion. To disrespect communionβ€”the Lord's Supperβ€”through selfishness or arrogance is not a small charge. The verses that follow show that such disrespect risks paying a heavy price.

What does 1 Corinthians 10:14 mean?
Paul has pointed to several instances from Israel's wilderness wanderings in which God harshly disciplined His own people for their sin. The apostle has encouraged the Christians in Corinth to take this as a warning. God always provides a means to resist temptation and avoid sin (1 Corinthians 10:13). This means there is no such thing as an "unavoidable" sin. In light of that, Paul urges believers to run away from the worship of false idols.

Paul gave these believers in Corinth similar commands about idolatry and sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18). In these two areas, especially, the only wise approach is to head in the other direction. This echoes the famous choice of Joseph, son of Jacob, who literally ran away from temptation (Genesis 39:7–12).

This command is further justified by what Paul writes in the following verses. He will connect idol worship to participation with demons. Paul intends for this command to inform the Corinthian Christians' choices, as well, about when to eat meat that may or may not have been offered to an idol.

The Bible provides several indicators to help determine if someone has truly been born again. Here are key aspects based on Scripture:

1. *Faith in Jesus Christ*: A genuine belief in Jesus as Lord and Savior is foundational. *John 3:36* states, "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him." A born-again person will acknowledge Jesus' divinity and His role in salvation.

2. *Evidence of a Changed Life*: 2 Corinthians *5:17* says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." A true transformation in behavior, desires, and lifestyle is a strong indicator of being born again. This includes a desire to live according to God’s will and to produce good fruit ( *Matthew 7:17-20* ).

3. *Love for Others*: 1 John *3:14* states, "We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers." A genuine love for fellow believers and others is a hallmark of a transformed heart. This love is selfless, sacrificial, and reflects the love of Christ.

4. *Obedience to God’s Commands*: 1 John *2:3-5* emphasizes that knowing God and keeping His commandments are intertwined. A born-again believer will strive to obey God’s Word, not out of obligation, but out of love and gratitude for what Christ has done.

5. *Desire for Holiness*: 1 Peter *1:15-16* encourages believers to be holy as God is holy. A born-again person will have a growing desire to pursue holiness and righteousness, turning away from sin and seeking to live in ways that honor God.

6. *The Presence of the Holy Spirit*: Romans *8:9* indicates that anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him. A true believer will experience the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, which empowers them to live according to God’s will, provides spiritual gifts, and brings about conviction of sin.

7. *Perseverance in Faith*: Hebrews *3:14* states, "For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end." A true believer will continue in faith throughout their life, growing and maturing spiritually, despite trials and challenges.

8. *Witness of the Spirit*: Romans *8:16* explains that "The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God." A born-again believer will have an internal assurance and peace from the Holy Spirit regarding their relationship with God.

In summary, to know if someone has truly been born again, one can look for signs such as faith in Jesus, evidence of a changed life, love for others, obedience to God’s commands, a desire for holiness, the presence of the Holy Spirit, perseverance in faith, and the internal witness of the Spirit. These indicators align with Biblical teachings and reflect the transformational work of God in a person’s life.
