🌸 We invite all girls and moms to join us for our new year of the Little Flowers Girls’ Club! 🌸

The Little Flowers Girls’ Club meets on the first Saturday of every month, and is open to all girls between JK and grade 6 and their mom (or another female adult). At every session, the girls journey with their moms to learn about the saints, grow in virtue, make friends, and earn flower petals towards badges along the way!

Our registration deadline is Friday, September 25 – with our first session launching in October 🌹

Today, on the Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows, we take the time to reflect on the seven sorrows that trace Mary’s journey with Jesus, from infancy to entombment:

1. The prophecy of Simeon that a sword would pierce her soul
2. The flight into Egypt
3. Losing Jesus in the Temple
4. Meeting Jesus on the way to Calvary
5. Standing at the foot of the Cross
6. Receiving Jesus’ body after his death
7. Jesus being laid in the tomb

Our Blessed Mother’s sorrow reflects much more than anguish of seeing her Son suffer. It reflects her faith, her understanding of His sacrifice, and her compassion for wounds caused by sin, and for the suffering of all humanity.

It’s fitting that this memorial takes place the day after the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Our Lady of Sorrows reminds us that when we unite our suffering to Jesus’ Cross, the suffering takes on a new meaning; it becomes an offering of love and hope.

Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us! 🙏🏾

Have you been to Our Lady of the Rosary Diocesan Shrine in Merlin yet this year? This Saturday at 11 am is a perfect time to visit and offer prayers for Seminarians, including our very own Adam Rivard, who is spending his pastoral year in our family of parishes. 🙏🏽

This Saturday! Join in prayer for our seven seminarians as they begin the academic year at St. Peter’s Seminary and Serra House, and for those in their pastoral year internships. 🙏🏻

Please note, the seminarians won’t be serving since they will be in studies. I hope to recruit some of the men discerning the priesthood. Feel free to invite young men from your parish, as a witness to how they will be supported if they say yes to the journey!

A friendly reminder that tonight we will be celebrating Our Lady of Nazaré, starting at 7 PM at St. Michael’s Parish. It will be bilingual - Portuguese and English. All are welcome!

This Friday, September 11 at 7 PM, our Portuguese community will be celebrating Holy Mass in honour of Our Lady of Nazaré!

All are welcome to join us for this special celebration, which will be followed by a Procession and Rosary at St. Michael's Parish.

In June, we welcomed Bishop Daniel Miehm in the Roman Catholic Diocese of London, and he has spent the summer learning about and connecting with our communities. Okkkk friends... we've been keeping a couple secrets and we're SO excited to share them with you.
