What does it actually look like to live with God—not just believe in Him, but walk with Him daily? Our series, Walking with the Spirit, explores the personal, powerful presence of the Holy Spirit—God with us, in us, and leading us. Together, we’ll discover how the Spirit guides, strengthens, convicts, and comforts, shaping us into people who reflect Jesus in every part of life. This isn’t about striving harder, but learning to walk closer.

We are living in a tinder-dry, flammable age. As we hear the reports of wildfires and burning buildings, we realize it's not just the loss of physical structures that are of concern. We are seeing inflamed passions through racial, political, and cultural tensions. In this new series, we are going to probe into biblical truths that have the power to bring cooling water to these interpersonal fires and even to heal our land.

Genesis 1:26, 2:18-23

We are looking at Exodus 40:34-38. It provides a kind of glorious conclusion to our study of the book of Exodus. We’ve been seeing the Israelites move from Fear to Faith and this is the culmination of it all. They were slaves and mistreated but they learned that God was concerned about them. Through the book, we have seen how God delivered them and provided for all their needs. However, we have also seen how they, over and over again, went back to worshiping the gods they had known in Egypt. Now, after all of their failure, God’s grace shines. The place of God’s dwelling had been prepared and God comes to live among them. He reveals Himself and His glory. He settles among them as the one who is to be worshiped and who will provide for them. He will always be there and will guide them in every movement they need to make. We are going to look at how He wants to show Himself as a present for us today and how He wants to guide us clearly, just as He did for the Israelites.

As Moses penned the book of Exodus, the Spirit inspired him to include the 'golden calf' incident. A worship service that went horribly wrong. Recent modern history has altered our perceptions, procedures, and participation in worship. What can Moses teach a twenty-first-century church in Langley? You might be surprised.

The one thing we still have in our vocabulary is that we use the word “church” in terms of place. The building. Bricks and mortar. Over the centuries, churches were built at the center of the city. It became a sanctuary of sorts for the townsfolk. But why even build churches? Doesn’t God say, “heaven is my throne, and the earth my footstool. What kind of house will you build for me, says the Lord, or what is the place of my rest? Did not my hand make all these things?” (Psalm 11) And yet at the center of most cities in Europe and North America, you have these beautiful buildings called churches. In this Old Testament passage, we will hear of another structure the Israelites were directed to construct for God to dwell. Come join us (especially the dads!).
