Amazing song/video by Brian Doerkson
Our Bethesda community is grieving the loss of our dear friend, Brian Doerksen.
Known around the world as a gifted songwriter and worship leader, Brian was also a dear friend, faithful advocate, and generous supporter of Bethesda. He loved our community deeply and made every person feel seen, valued, and loved.
One of Brian's final gifts to our community was the song Shelter. Just weeks before his illness, he spent time with members of our Bethesda family recording the music video. In a beautiful act of generosity, he also went above and beyond to create a special version of the video just for Bethesda, featuring much more footage of the people we support. Those moments now feel especially precious as we remember his joyful spirit, compassionate heart, and unwavering faith.

Brian didn't just sing about following Jesus, he lived it. His life reflected the words he wrote:
"Ready to do Your will, to love like You love, to serve like You serve, to care like You care."
While we grieve deeply, we do not grieve without hope. We are grateful knowing that Brian is now in the presence of the Saviour he loved so dearly.
Please join us in praying for his wife Joyce, their children and grandchildren, and all who loved Brian. We also ask for prayers for our Tapestry community, where Brian's love and presence were deeply felt.
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18)
Brian's friendship, faith, and music will continue to inspire us to love like Jesus. He will be deeply missed. ❤️
