Meet another of our main session speakers, Joyce Rees! Joyce has roots in the BCYD, a graduate from Regent & Summit Pacific College, and currently pastors in Calgary while running a podcast with Jess DiSabatino. Joyce brings a deep love for the local church and an emphasis on the Church's involvement in justice. We are so excited to have her join us!

We want to thank you all for such continued support of the community of Tumbler Ridge. The incident last month was heartbreaking, and as Jim & Elaine Caruso and Pastor Gerald and Tracy Krauss are in the community caring for those who were directly affected, they have shared with us the pain and the loss felt in the community.

Your support has enabled us to send Jim Caruso, a trained trauma counsellor, to go and support the community that wasn't prepared for an incident like this, and has enabled the church to engage in practical support for those affected by this tragedy. Thank you, BCYD, for responding with such generosity.

We ask that you continue to pray, as Jim & Caruso head back shortly to continue supporting this community, and as Tumbler Ridge continues this process of healing over the coming months, we know the deep dependency we must have in Jesus and the need for Him to intervene.

This year’s Lead Forward Conference Theme, “Step Into More,” is rooted in Ephesians 3:20 a bold reminder that God “is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.”
This theme is a call to step beyond comfort and limitation into the fullness of what God desires — more intimacy and surrender in our personal lives, more health and mission in our local churches, and more Spirit-led vision across the BCYD. It is not about striving for bigger things, but trusting a bigger God whose power is already at work among us, inviting us to move forward in faith, expectation, and obedience.

In the wake of the tragedy in Tumbler Ridge, our hearts are heavy, and we want the community to know that the British Columbia & Yukon District of The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada is standing with them in prayer and support. We are especially lifting up Pastor Gerald and Tracy Krauss, all affected families, first responders, and community leaders during this deeply painful time. To provide tangible care, we are sending Jim Caruso, a trained and experienced trauma counsellor, to walk alongside the church and community with compassionate, Christ-centered support. We commit to continue walking with Tumbler Ridge in the days ahead. Those who wish to assist can give to the Tumbler Ridge Benevolence Fund at BCYD.ca to help provide ongoing pastoral and practical care.

Registration for our annual youth conference opens tomorrow! Make sure all of you with youth ministries head to youthgetaway.ca and sign up your students! This will be an amazing time of connection between the students of our district, as well as often a pivotal moment in the lives of future ministers of the Gospel! We hope to see you all from around our district there!

Free registration for the 2026 Indigenous leaders summit and outreach is now open. The event will happen from April 14-16 in Terrace, BC. If you are in the area, come to a time of spiritual renewal and fellowship with our indigenous section. Streaming options will be available for all the BCYD. More details to come!

We are excited to have Pastor Ken McIntyre join us as our main speaker for Youth Getaway this year! Before joining Hope City Church in Edmonton, he spent over a decade as a youth pastor and later served as the PAOC Youth Director for Alberta & the NWT District.

Make sure the youth ministries in your church do not miss out on the opportunity to learn from this minister of the Gospel!
