Institute – Winter 2026 Term
It’s time to go to MyInstitute.ChurchOfJesusChrist.org to register for the next term of Institute.
We are happy to join you in a study of the Old Testament starting next week (on Wednesday the 7th in Langley and on Thursday the 8th in Abbotsford). Both classes start at 7 pm with a dinner provided at 6:15 pm. The reading each week of class will be the same as the reading for Come, Follow Me. It will be easy to follow if you’ll begin the new Study Plan in the Gospel Library “Old Testament Using Come, Follow Me”.
From the instructor manual: This course is designed to
• Focus on Jesus Christ’s example, attributes, and redeeming power in your study of the Old Testament.
• Deepen your understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ as taught in the Old Testament.
• Develop scripture study skills that increase your ability to understand the scriptures on your own.
• Recognize how the truths they study from the Old Testament can help with your questions, needs, and circumstances.
• Explain, share, and testify of truths found in the scriptures.
• Apply the teachings of the scriptures to your lives as you strive to become more like Jesus Christ.
• Seek, recognize, and act on personal revelation from the Holy Ghost.
For those not too familiar with the Old Testament, this should be an exciting class of discovery. The Old Testament is a large part of what Lehi found written in the Brass Plates and his descendants relied upon to understand their covenants. Like the Book of Mormon and prophets of today, the Old Testament instructed a people, like us, prior to the coming of Christ.
The standard Class will be earn 1 credit for Religion 301A. If you are in Pathways and need a 2 credit class, please contact one of the instructors. We can help with that, though it does require some extra effort.
