Lakefield United Church is proud and excited to announce that the " Peterborough Pop Ensemble", will be our special guests for the November 29th, "Community Carol Service"!

The group directed by Maureen Harris-Lowe, has had many memorable performances, such as :

-Singing the national anthem for the Blue Jays
- the Over 55 Hockey Games, and countless Peterborough Petes games
- Being invited to perform as part of Sing!, the Toronto A Ca****la music festival
- Multiple performances with the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra
- Recurring invitations as feature performers for the Peterborough Dragon Boat Festival ceremonies
- Leading music with the Salvation Army Band at the annual Peterborough Remembrance Day Ceremony

We invite you to join us this coming Sunday, September 6th, for Worship!

This past year has been the celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the United Church of Canada. Join us as we bring this Anniversary year to a close and begin looking to the future.

Sunday September 13th is Welcome Back Sunday! We welcome the choir back and we welcome Rev. Lyle Horn back from a well-deserved summer vacation.

Come join us as we catch up with friends and meet new ones. After the services we are all invited to a BBQ lunch on the lawn provided by our AOTS Men’s Club.

Broadview starts up on Wednesday September 9. The latest issue of the Broadview Magazine is titled: The small church Issue. Join the group to discuss this timely edition. Broadview meetings Wednesday September 9 at 10:30 in the Board Room.

September 27, 2026 is Orange Shirt Sunday
Orange Shirt Sunday, the Sunday before the Orange Shirt Day/National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30) is a time to remember and honour Indigenous children who were taken from their communities and families to residential institutions.

The Lakefield United Church choir is about to begin a new season of music. Rehearsals are every Thursday from 6:45 -8:15pm. We sing every Sunday, participating in wonderful services of hope, led by Reverend Lyle Horn. We are a fun dynamic Christian faith based group who enjoy learning, laughing, supporting one another, and of course, making music. The only requirement to join is the ability to keep a tune and attend rehearsals on a reasonable regular basis.
