EMMA'S NEXT CAMP MEETING —BY KEITH RICHTER

Emma is 8 years old. She’s been asking about Camp Meeting since September.
“When do we go back?” “Will Miss Sarah be there?”
“Can I stay in the same cabin?”
Her parents smile every time she asks. They know what Camp Meeting gave Emma last summer. A week where she was assured that God loves her. New friends sang with her every morning, created art together and she felt safe, welcome, and part of something bigger.

But the facilities at Foothills Camp where Emma learned and worshiped are wearing out.
Will you make a gift today to renovate and update Foothills Camp before this year’s Camp Meeting?
Old kitchen equipment repeatedly breaks down. The children’s divisions rooms aren’t properly insulated – they’re cold in the mornings and uncomfortable by afternoon.

These are just two examples of critical projects on the to-do list, and Camp Meeting starts in less than 3 months.

To open Camp Meeting with a safe, modern kitchen, upgraded division buildings and other projects throughout the camp, we need to raise $250,000 by May 31, 2026.

That’s a lot in a short time. But I know that if we all work together, we can meet the goal. Gifts received by May 31, 2026 will be matched by the Conference up to $50,000.

With your gift, Emma will soon be able to walk into more welcoming facilities. She’ll learn in rooms that are comfortable and cozy. She’ll eat safe delicious food and she’ll feel cared for.

Camp Meeting has been shaping young lives like Emma’s for generations. It’s where kids encounter faith in a way that sticks. It’s where families reconnect, where grandparents pass on what matters most.

But only if the facilities don’t get in the way.

Please make a gift today so these repairs and updates are completed before Emma arrives.

P.S. I need to raise $250,000 by May 31, 2026, to complete critical renovations before Camp Meeting 2026. Please make a gift today so the Conference can double your gift for Emma and other kids like her to experience the faith-building Camp Meeting they’ve been dreaming about

Llew Werner has announced his retirement as Director of Project Development and Risk Management, effective this spring.

Llew joined the Alberta Conference team in 2013, bringing with him an extensive background in accounting and healthcare financial management in Canada and abroad. His overseas mission service helped provide new ways of looking at life and culture, which added to the life lessons he had learned from growing up in a farming community in northwest Alberta. With his varied life and work experience, Llew has made a significant impact on the mission of the Alberta Conference.

Pastor Jeff Potts says, “Since 2013, Llew Werner has served the Alberta Conference as our Director of Risk Management/Project Development. Llew’s expertise in these areas has made him a real asset to our conference. His keen discernment and thorough work have been deeply valued. Llew will be missed. I wish him all the best in his retirement.”

Llew is married to Attaleen, and together they have two sons, Timothy and Christopher.
