Cinema Public is proud to present to you Armand, a Norwegian dramatic thriller directed by Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel. The film premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, in the Un Certain Regard section, winning the Camera d’Or Award.

“When defamed actress Elisabeth is abruptly called into a parent-teacher meeting after hours, she’s presented with scathing allegations that trigger a tangled web of accusations between parents and faculty. As Elisabeth struggles to uncover the truth amid the empty school rooms and dark corridors, a chaotic fight for redemption arises where desire, madness and obsession prevail.”

The film will be screened in Norwegian with English subtitles.

This year we enjoyed the winter fun day at the cottage of Brenda and Anatole on March 2.
It was a social gathering with good interaction, discussions, and lots of good food with home baked cakes, waffles and grilling of sausages on the open fire. And of course – a glass of aquavit.
We enjoyed several activities including scavenger hunt, stretching and skating!! The rain with the flash freeze had created fantastic skating conditions on the lake.
A great thank you to Brenda and Anatole for hosting the event.

“Gutta på tur”

The NAM walking//ski group had the first ski outing today in the Laurentian. We skied at park regional Val-David - Val-Morin in good snow conditions, followed with a warm home made meal.

Next outing is tentatively set for February 7th. Follow the newsletters from Norwegian Association of Montreal for further information.

Photos from our “irregular” midweek walking tours. We meet a few times during winter, spring, and autumn for a short or long walk followed up with have a social gathering. The walks are suitable for everyone. They are announced in our newsletter.
This year we have so far had a ski trip in the Laurentian and walks in Montreal, Magog and Lanaudière.

Everybody is welcome to participate.
