A bazaar for a great cause is taking place today and tomorrow at the Palliative Care Residence - Maison Sault-Saint-Louis! If you are in the area today or tomorrow please drop in to support this initiative! They are funded to a certain extent by government, business and private sources, but need to fundraise to make up the difference every year...
They have also asked for basic toiletry items over the summer (toothbrushes, toothpaste, adult diapers, etc... brand new please).

A special weekend ahead!
Tomorrow - Saturday August 15 - we will be celebrating the Feast of the Assumption of Mary during our 4:30 pm Mass! Those who wish my join our Legion of Mary members as they recite the Rosary in the church at 4:00 pm. May our Divine Mother watch over and pray for us! 🙏💙🙏🩵🌹
Then on Sunday August 16 our 9 am and 11 celebrations will be for the 20th Sunday in Ordinary Time.
All are welcome to participate in either or both celebrations!

Congratulations and prayers to our Michael Boh as he celebrates the next step on his journey toward the Diaconate! The celebration will be held this evening - Friday May 29 - at 7:30 pm at the Cathedral for those who can join him and his family!

Your prayers are requested for Kevin Kaiser, who will receive the Ministry of Acolyte, and Michael Boh, who will receive the Ministry of Lector, during the Mass for the Instituted Ministries for the Permanent Diaconate, at Mary Queen of the World Cathedral, beginning at 7:30 PM, Friday, May 29, 2026.

Congratulations and blessings to their families and respective parishes, St. Thomas à Becket Parish and St. John Brebeuf parish.

The Mass will be presided by Archbishop Christian Lépine.

As Palliative Care week comes to an end we would like to thank all who supported our team and 11 parishioners who walked for our own palliative care residence in LaSalle last Sunday! We raised just about $4000 and came in 3rd place among all of the teams who participated! Hoping to come back with a few photos from the event.. in the meantime here is some information about palliative care

Compassionate care is about more than just a place; it’s about a community of support. We are proud to highlight the Nova Scotia Hospice Palliative Care Association (NSHPCA) for their leadership in advancing emotional wellness, grief support, and equitable care across the province. Through advocacy and shared knowledge, they work to strengthen the system and help Nova Scotians find the resources they need.
